This reminds me of the Hold your wee for a Wii held by a Sacramento radio station about a decade ago where a participant tragically died. These waivers aren't worth the toilet paper they're written on and for good reason: the organizer and the participants often don't fully under the risks, which means the organizer is screwed if tragedy strikes and this ends up in court.

The Voodoo doughnut that man choked on was called the Tex-Ass and was the size of a dinner plate. Apparently he was trying to eat the entire thing in under 80 seconds. The doughnut has been discontinued.
