I have 95 dodge ram 1500 5. 2. The oil light flickers when im at a stop or in reverse. I had just changed the oil yesterday and it's gotten worse I would go for maybe 20 minute drive and when I stop its act like it wants to stall out it doesn't stall completely but act like it wants to. I know its not fuel. When it started acting like it wanted to stall I pressed the gas and it was ok but everytime I slowed down the light flickered and acted like it wanted to stall out. My cousin had it b4 I had it. He didnt take good care of it. It does not have the scan plug in because my cousin an idiot.

working on some other so called mechanics ride (who doesnt know shit) is like putting pants on with shit in em, were the head bolts okay intake gaskets etc. As for cylinder heads, you use the bare castings and let u your machine shop do it right, some of the heads leak when you fill the ports with water, which mean a valve seat job, as for that miss fire I caught that in the beginning, plug and wire no big deal

Doesn't the oxygen sensor show up on the check engine light? I'm asking cause my truck is having similar problems i was driving down the road and my truck just started to stall and jerk no matter what when I pressed on the gas it wouldn't go and then it died. And now it won't turn back on but it does crank over so now I'm in a buff have any idea where I should start?

These engines are notorious for plenum gasket failure. It starts sucking oil into the intake manifold ports and burns oil misfire and fuel sensor get fouled I am doing mine as I am posting this. First thing to check is isolated PCV system and check for vacuum in the crankcase. If there is vacuum your gasket is blown

My 01 does the same thing this did, but I don't get the same code. I get 2 EVAP codes. It runs good for a couple minutes when you start it and then it starts putting out and it reeks like gas like it's flooded, then you shut it off and start it back up and it's perfectly fine. Could it be the same problem? Same fix?

I had similar truck same motor. Ghost issues came and went. Than i thought i had it solved. Bad wire to coil. fixed that. than other issues. Money light would come on. than off for a week or so. Irritating as all get out. Than i replaced the PCM all the trucks issues ended and have never come back. 50k miles ago

I kno this is a old video but could someone please help me out my 96 ram 1500 runs and drives great until I take my foot off the gas and it dies come to a stop and starts back up first did it once a week now its every time I hit the brake and my foot is off the gas pedal any thought guys thanks alot

I understand you are trying to teach us a bit but you wasted 30 minutes of your time when to dumb ol shade tree mechannic me would have thrown a known good wire on it to begin with. If that didn't work I would have looked at the plug. Then go to the cap and rotor if the first two didn't work

Excellent video I'm having similar issues with my Durango 5. 9 Magnum already replaced the plugs Cap and rotor, also found a vacuum leak at the cruise control module, had a bank one, sensor one o2 sensor code but cleared it thinking it was an ignition problem.
