I had that problem in my 1986 model Holden VL Commodore in 2008 which ran a Nissan RB30DE engine that I built for it in 2003, it ran the original 3 litre Nissan block, rods & crankshaft but the rest of it was from a 1995 mode R33 Skyline RB25DE engine so it was a 24 valve engine, not the original 12 valve engine.
Well, water leaked past the windscreen then into the ECU then shorted the injector driver out, I cleaned the ECU out with electricial contact cleaning spray & I found that number 4 fuel injector was jammed open.
I went to the Japanese wreckers later that week & picked up a fuel injector to suit a Nissan SR20DE engine out of a Nissan Pulsar as it was the same fuel injector as the Skyline injector.
Replacing the fuel injector fixed the problem!

Bar engine over to relieve cylinder hydo lock. Man that brings back old memories of hydro locked Cummins truck motors which had holes in the liners from cavitation filling cylinder with coolant. To evacuate lock up bar engine in reverse engine rotation, thus allowing the fluid to escape out the exhaust value. After 3 or 4 rotations the cylinder is cleared allowing engine to be started, leave radiator cap loose and haul another load of logs.
So bar reverse rotation to expel fluid.

Good call; good practical procedure to follow, but no Brake Kleen, no acetylene torch, and no explosions to liven things up. I guess you noticed that beginning at around 2: 20 or 2: 21, you can see gas dripping out of the T-connector at the point where you connected it to the pressurized fuel line - it happened each time you turned the fuel pump on. That little glitch could throw us DIYers off the correct diagnostic path.

I have a 00 GMC Sierra 5. 3L with return system Ive replaced the FPR the FP and injectors and I still lose pressure after I turn it off after an hour it drops to 0 (always has a hard start even when priming it before trying unless I just cranked it and shut it off then cranked it again within a few minutes) theres no fuel leak anywhere what could be going on?

Yeah that happened to me on Honda but it wouldnt drive and suddenly happened stuck open. Pulled over and gas was coming out exhaust manifold. Was able to tell by just pulling plugs and one was covered in gas. Easy on a 4 banger civic. But yeah was weird, glad I shut off immediately and didnt try to keep cranking and hydroloc it

Just replaced my purge valves and gascap in my 08 accent. then the fuel pump went. Replaced that and the solenoid. still theres no hiss when i open the gascap and cranks awhile to start, so somethings not holding pressure. im thinking maybe fuel rail or bad injectors? No check engine light coming on. im stumped.

I'm having the same kinda problem with my 2005 avalanche 5. 3 liter. when i test the pump with a pressure tester it goes up to 55-58 psi which is normal but if you look at the needle it declines to 15 psi and it'll stay there. this is with just the key on not running any idea?

Why does a person let a car that can run sit for 5 years? I'm not talking about a project car or a restoration, I'm talking about all these yahoos that just keep a semi running car in their yard and do nothing with it. That's crazy. Either fix it of get rid of it.

My fuel pressure loss was traced to the fuel pump but during the pulp replacement a torn rubber grommet was found on the outlet nipple of the pump. Same was replaced and the problem solved.
A 5 dollar part caused a 2000 dollar engine rebuild.

Full pipe is the term we use in industrial situations. If I were radioing back to the guy on the pipe, I'd tell him we have full pipe at line pressure (right after OFF OFF OFF, SHUT IT DOWN)
