Michael at Bangkok Vanguards: Charoen Chai Community (, Bangkok, Thailand. Ive known Michael from Bangkok Vanguards for a number of years, and hes a great guy. So we met up to hang out, eat, and explore and talk about a little more serious subject - the endangered Charoen Chai Community ( ) in Bangkoks Yaowarat, Chinatown. Before exploring the neighborhood though, we stopped of course to eat some nearby Thai street food. Jay Eng ) - Kuay teow lawd boran ) is what this famous street sells. Its an ok dish, not my absolute favorite, but its not a common dish to find in Bangkok either - this old type of style - its well worth trying out. Their fried fish cakes ) are awesome. Price - 35 THB (1. 07) per plate Satay ) - Next just down the road, and it actually has the same owner, we had some pretty fantastic satay. I especially enjoyed the liver

Your friend wants 2 help inform the traveler about older part of the city /country that's great 4 over development isn't good 4 so much history would be lost. The 2 can be partner 2gether they can find a way but I understand it's all about the money /tourist business but he must stand up 4 your rights & 4 the historic parts of the community. 1LOVE - JAH LOVE - PEACE BE WITH YOU BOTH Keep on TRAVELING 4 FOOD. Satay is quite common food throughout southeast Asia. For Muslim, your need to go Malaysia or Indonesia to taste the halal version of Satay. Thailand, your need to go southern region to get Halal food, since most Muslim leave their. I not said Thailand is not good Muslim tourist to visit, since i leave in Malaysia and i also visit Thailand once a while, If your are very particular on halal food, maybe your can visit my country Malaysia or Indonesia for Halal food without any problem, since both country well known for halal cuisine. Or maybe your can make guide for Halal food in Thailand.

Endangered Chinatown: I have read news about the food police patrolling the streets (moving the street vendors/pop up shops/lunch wagons into enclosed restaurants); this is one of the best highlights that I think, many tourists enjoy most about Bangkok Forget KFC. - Michael. The city will lose it's character, aka the Mom and Pop (historical landmark) shops, due to gentrification (hotels, shopping malls. (If one person does protest against this transitional phrase because of health concerns, then he/she will be thrown in prison) Sad.

At the 'choose your own ingredients' eatery there was an absolutely beautiful young lady (employee ) standing in the door frame for a moment. Very pretty with a slightly reserved smile. Definitely caught my attention. Would be nice to enjoy the good food and trade a smile and a word with her. A land of many charms. Thanks for bringing all this to us.

6: 45 WHY DID HE NOT DIP IT IN THE PEANUT SAUCE YOU SHOULD NOT EAT SATAY WITHOUT THE PEANUT SAUCE/PICKLED VEG. Speaking from somebody who is somehow used to getting very dry satay pork and needing to dip it in the peanut sauce to fight the dryness. Or else it feels like shoving a tissue down your throat.

Chinese in thailand integrated well into thai society due to the Red Scare in the 70'. 13: 30 is Teochew sprawn rolls. No other egg rolls even come close to this fried sprawn rolls. The homemade ones, you put more shrimps and less pork. I drove 45 mile just to have a plate of that. That's how good they are.

OK dude, how in the hell do you not die from taking that big of bites? I've been cooking for 25 years and I can see how dry some of the meats are that you eat, yet you take bites the size of small children. I don't get it. Anyway, thanx for the uploads
