Controversy. The double-edged sword that can make or break a TV show, cementing it forever as an icon of the medium, or dooming it to bar trivia night obscurity. When a popular TV show does something provocatively against the mold, networks can expect to see some angry letters, protests, or even outright boycotts. Some of these episodes deserve the criticism they get, but should we give some of these other shows a break To read more about these controversies, go here:

Ahh, mericans. Writing very angry letters because a TV show offends their sensibilities, then immediately calling other people snowflakes on social media lmao. Then they organize boycotts and complain about TV shows because the children, but give no shits if said children get shot up at school. Then the children don't matter.

sparking Protests from the Parents Television Council
If you were letting your kids watch NYPD Blue, a naked butt is the least damaging thing your kid was likely to see. That one is purely on the parents for letting their kids watch adult tv shows with violence and dark themes

I remember the South Park 0: 01 Muslim controversy. Made me really think. I finally decided that if is their doctrine to never show depictions of Mohammed, then that statement be respected. All beliefs should be. It’s what we should all be about.

Tell me about that miami vice episode that it was banned in Chile because pinochet didn't like that the rest of america though that chilean police sold illegal weapons and were murderers (in the middle of bloody dictatorship mind you)

I'm surprised a Ren and Stimpy episode wasn't on this list. Yeah its cliche, but given the amount of episodes pulled from airing and even some not being available on streaming or only found on a few dvds, it's not surprising.

I feel like controversial the word has been worn to a very thin point right now because morality and intelligence in man’s entertainment has been destroyed by soft words, sjw propaganda and laziness

I don't get people. if you don't like something on TV don't watch it. Why go on a crusade to save other people Maybe people just worry about their own life and stay out of other people's business.

Unfortunately the most controversial Seinfeld episode wasn't the one where Jerry talked about how easy it is to take advantage of high school girls and then went on to say Palestinians aren't people

So sick and tired of Networks bending over to appease the offended minority. 1 million people can enjoy a naughty joke but it 4 people write in to complain, it's OMG CANCEL IT!

The US version of Skins was more terrible than controversial even the targeted audience at the time hated the show I think it depicted more teenage stereotypes

The Doctor Who one is funny considering a romance was portrayed with our first female Doctor and her female companion Yaz. People are weird.

The Puerto Rican Day episode was really only initially controversial. Only took 4 years for Sony to distribute as per any other episode.
