Does anyone know of the fall line that was underwater during the cretaceous also happens to be the line where Laurentia crashed into Avaonia between the Devonian and Carboniferous
It makes sense to me for that being the reason that section of land was lower to begin with, but i cant find confirmation online.

Oh dang, I didn’t realize Plate Tectonics was so new of a scientific theory! I was born in ’89 so it always seemed about as established for the same amount of time as Gravity.

SO excited to see Sage host her very own crash course! I've absolutely loved her videos for so long and she's such a great science communicator. She S O deserves this and i can't wait to see the rest of the series!

Gah, I can't hype this I've been saving my last lot for this all week.
Geology is a huge love of mine and I love anyone passionate about it who will share their knowledge about it with me. Thank you!

This was really fun to watch. I really appreciated the emphasis on how so many others before European exploration & discovery already knew about many of these things. Keep it up!

This is so exciting and so needed! Geology is perhaps the best science to break through to science deniers. You don't need special equipment to see deep time.

geology was one of the only college courses I took where I found myself getting really interested and curious to learn more. looking forward to this series!

Well, my favourite new vocabulary from this first video is hoodoo as a geological term ( 8: 05 ) although The Fall Line ( 4: 19 ) is a close runner up.
reply

Besides studying the rocks on earth will we also throw some light on the composition of planets, and space objects like asteroids and meteors.

I wish I did not drop out of my college geography class but times were tough. Glad I can still learn here for fun thanks a million

I hope somewhere in this series they cover water flowing in the ground, and monitoring wells around waste dumps or contaminated sites.

Great episode and love seeing that they have you on CC! That they didn't make a mushroom based CC for you feels like a waste of talents.

Coming from FL. Really looking forward to this series. Thank you Sage and CC for helping this FL boy appreciate this planet even more.

BTW, the Fall Line was a good place to set up water powered industries another reason why it is dotted with towns and cities!

Sage is so gooooooood! Goofy enthusiasm shifting into really enthralling poise and back again. This is gonna be a good series!
