Abortion will never be truly abolished as long as society continues to tolerate any form of artificial contraception and the contraceptive mentality in general. After all, abortion is the inevitable backup when those fail.
Down with incrementalism. Screw 14A / substantive due process jurisprudence. Overturn Griswold v. Connecticut. Subsidiarity, localism, states rights, 10A, and Dobbs v. Jackson FTW.

I really liked this video because the main ideas were clear and important. It explains how the morningafter pill works, showing that it prevents pregnancy by stopping or delaying ovulation. It also makes clear that it is not the same as an abortion pill, which is a very helpful point.

i heard they're making a birth control pill for males
(I'm not going to explain how it works but obviously it's different from how female birth control pills work so it might be interesting)
can you do a video on that

When I was asking about birth control options, my gynecologist actually deterred me from using copper IUDs because they irritate your urine walls and can actually make it harder to have kids down the road.

Excellent video. Tracking my BBT, cervical fluid and following other FAM tips has changed my life. Among a plethora of other benefits, I now have a better idea of when taking plan b would make a difference or not

Morning-after pills delay ovulation before the ovulation process starts, but can't do much if the process has started already. - saving this for later. Thank you, TED-Ed.

In explaining how the pill prevents ovulation, I feel like this animation also does a better job explaining how ovulation works than if it was targeting just that concept.

My Copper IUD gave me severely painful and heavy periods, it was a nightmare, I don’t even know how I got through it for a year you should do a video on the pill
reply

Conclusion: copper IUDs can produce abortions, as preventing implantation is a form of early abortion, because it terminates the life of an existing embryo.

Now i understand the use of IUD, now everything is making sense. How historically women created it with copper wire from racks and the symbol.

It's always good to be prepared and know the risks.
Thanks TED Ed for always teaching us in a fun, visual appealing way.

reply

Not in a relationship, but I feel like it's good to know about this even though I doubt I'll get anyone pregnant anytime soon
