Boy is THIS loaded with errors!
1. Louis XIV died in 1715.
2. Louis XIV was NOT the ruler at the time of the revolution. it was Louis XVI.
3. The corruption was in part due to the ministers ALL the Louis entrusted with the countries finances. from Fouquet under Louis XIV thru Jacques Necker under Louis XVI.
4. Actually, Marie Antoinette DID NOT have expensive tastes. She despised gaudy displays. In fact, the rumor was spread by Duc de Choiseul (who was upset that Louis didn't accept his sister as mistress) and Jeanne de Valois-Saint-Remy. She hired a Parisian prostitute to impersonate Marie Antoinette in order to get Cardinal de Rohan to purchase an expensive necklace in the queen's name. Remy got the necklace, sold the stones and the blame was aimed at the queen.
5. The peasants were taxed because the nobility and clergy REFUSED to be taxed. (Sound familiar.
6. The financial issues in support of the American Revolution were in part due to Louis' Minister of Finance who over rated the financial standing of the French Treasury in order to get additional loans & better rates.
7. Louis XVI did suffer bouts of depression. It was during such bouts that Marie stepped up and represented him at councils.

I wonder if seven years of no physical contact with her husband and King led her to leaning on chocolate, and the personal contact through stylists and clothiing stylists (both a known serotonin/dopomine releasing experience) were her entitled way of dealing with her husband's lack of physical love. Just a thought, There's more to the story but I can imagine physical rejection took it's toll on her. She was used to being catered to and while that's not an excuse, what else could she had known? IDK. Weird take on her, Jordan Klepper, you were a bit judgey about her her here. What about her hubby, not much said about a dude who wouldn't sleep with his wife for 7 years. Kinda seems like a deeper take is needed.

I have a feeling that the revolution was a poor decision. From the information I have gathered, I do not believe that Louis XVI was the worst French king. No proof that he was the most corrupt or the most power drunk.
The question is who really planned the French revolution? Who wanted to benefit from the power change? Who did benefit from the power change? Which foregin countries financed the revolution?
The crime committed by the revolutionaries was worse that those committed by the monarchy in my opinion.
I wish someone can provide information as to who were the real beneficiaries of the French revolution.

The main problem of decline was giving responsibility to them un childhood and probably they didn't have the thought to handle economic and political causes
Greedy kings and Queens
Their selection of next king to throne was pathetic
The hierarchy order in selection of king also to be criticized
The royal palace have to select the right person to throne at least at the age of 30+
The French Helped Americans and the decision took by Louis 16 was worst at that time like a childish statement if he matured then it won't happen

Again, so just like today when politicians and corporate leaders consider themselves above and beyond their own laws and the peasants are only here to work for them and pay taxes let them be VAXXED!
(Of course, monetizing the states DEBT that made paupers out of millionaires holding paper money had a lot to do with the National Razors success in paying down that debt! Soon there was nobody left to owe money too )

Neker was a corrupt piece of traitor trash working for a certain group of rich merchants who were tired of kings getting in the way of their corruption. because democracy bring corruption to the people direct instead of a monarch who would have their own views and might even understand rules that the rest don't get

Went on a Wikipedia deep dive into Louis XIV and his mistresses and scandals and its so wild and terrible. And the purposeful abuse he put his mistresses through when he was over them was. He forced one ex-mistress to take care of the kids of his next mistress even when she begged to leave.

Whatever
So he spent money on Marie and other lavish crap instead of food for his people, did he and Marie deserve it? Yes, the revolution was especially necessary for change. Marie was just as guilty and aloof for that.
Did his children deserve it? No, but often revolutions are not always ideal.

I wish I were a spectre, able to travel through time and just watch the happenings of a period of time with popcorn in one hand and a coke in the other whilst not being able to be seen by anyone and just float about the world. That would be my superpower.

Their increasing extravagance led the french people to question the role of the monarchy
You can honestly start asking the question with the governments today, they have taken the same role almost, especially the likes of E U and similar

I say the people of Britain now should follow suit and engage in revolution against the super-rich and the corrupt Conservative Party. They have earned their appointment with Madame Guillotine, so let's damn well give it to them!

It's amazing to see how many people in the comments section defending the tyrannical government. I never understood why poor people romanticize billionaires as if they're good people

You did absolutely no research: chocolate in the times of Kings was a drink, not a confectionery. The French didnt like sweet deserts contrary to the Turks and the Viennese.

The French Revolution was a color revolution. Just like today. They pitched the elites against the poor. This was instigated by the cabal. The same cabal of today!

We could use a good revolution around here. The endless cycle of the rich taking more and more until it reaches a breaking point. We're at that point once again
