Why Anchorage is America's Most OP City
video description
3: 50 - We are not the FINAL frontier (that is Star Trek/space. We are Americas LAST frontier. Nor are we a possession or territory -- we are a state, just like Texas (puke) or Rhode Island.
And while Anchorage is strategically an ideal airport for AIR cargo between the east and west, what this video doesnt say is that Anchorage is the American city most prone to be leveled by an earthquake, or covered by a volcano. Anchorage is the most earthquake prone area in North America. And there are dozens of active volcanos nearby. Check out the Anchorage earthquake videos of 1964 or 2018.
And then, there is the crime and homeless factor. You couldnt pay me to live there.
But, Alaska is incredibly strategic from a geopolitical standpoint and this is obvious. If politicians were smart, they would place an air cargo airport in a flat place like Gravina Island. Flat, ice free, close to Seattle. No earthquakes, no volcanoes, legal weed.

Good video I always love seeing my home state gassed up but I wish he didn-t hand wave the environmental issues alaska is a one of the most beautiful and most ecologically diverse places in the world and climate change is a big issue so yes control over the north west passage is great but to have the north west passage so easily accessible means we have reason to work against the already dwindling ice and work to permanently damage our ecosystem all for the purpose of wealth which is an issue alaska always has with its biggest leader in our economy being natural gas

Anchorage is the Minnie Portland Alaskans are embarrassed to have have in the state. The best thing to do in that city is count the homeless camps, listen to the police sirens and count the property crime stats. If that isn't fun then you can watch the local soap opera, thats the city council arguing with the mayor. But if you really want to experience Anchorage it is best to do it in the rear view mirror as you drive out of town.

Alaska is so far removed from the lower 48 states that people in some parts of the world think it's part of Canada.
When my wife and I are in South America, people that know we're from Alaska refer to us as the Canadians. -
Perhaps when they look at a map of Canada, they automatically think we are another Canadian Province. -

And nobody is talking about why it-s so expensive it is to live in Alaska while Anchorage is the main hub for items the lower 48 gets all the goodies. And sometimes retail. That-s lots of messed up for the residents of Alaska.
Dear rich pricks, What-s up with that?

There are currently at least six international flights to/from Anchorage:
Bahamas
Belize -
Canada -
Costa Rica-
Guatemala-
Mexico
Perhaps you meant to say that there are only two season trans-continental flights connecting to Anchorage?

By the time they get at the natural gas the cost of electricity will make it worthless - EVs and robots will be working on getting the arctic circle to freeze again one day. The polar vortex from the thaw will probably destroy things to an unforeseen degree.

The correct expression is -you can't eat your cake and have it too-. Some how through the decades someone put the cart before the horse and everyone followed suite like sheep. I believe it was a typo in a news article and no one bothered to correct it.

All of this can also be taken as the reason as to why the wealthy would much rather speed up climate change rather than stop it.
And they'll get away with it too, since the convenience is too good. People don't like waiting weeks for their packages.

Wrong flag for Greenland by the way. While part of the Kingdom of Denmark, they have home rule. Also, even though they are part of the Kingdom of Denmark, they are not part of the European Union. They exited in 1985.

Interesting content, well-researched, but the constant hyper narration quickly begins to grate. This is why good documentaries have moments of silence, interviews, etc to break up the monotony of narration.

do not trust UPS to make local deliveries in Bangkok. They can get your package to there but then they dump your package into Thailand 's local delivery service (like your USPS in America)

The Northern Passage doesn't run alongside Canada, it runs THROUGH Canada; 100% within her territorial waters. It would be like saying Lake Michigan was 'alongside the United States'

I do not see any downsides to the Artic being open. Climate change alarmism aside. There are a lot of benefits to the Earth being warmer.
