I was just in this exact spot but for a CPO eval between the everyday versions; 540i xDrive v E300. And for all the similar reasons mentioned here, ride quality, acceleration, cabin layout and fun to drive aspect, the BMW got my vote.

These 2 guys sort of bumbling along about the pros and cons of these 2 cars are really BAD. 1) They can't be heard well unless I turn volume all the way up and, 2) the bumbling really puts me to sleep.

I went for a 2019 E63 (non S. An absolute beast and importantly much more comfortable and compliant for U. K. roads. It has 571hp and enough torque to satisfy speed and maintain exec comfort.

I'm an M car guy through and through had loads of M3's over the years but i just cant stop looking at the E63s and it is the one i would buy!
