Why should an EV feel and behave like a regular ICE car? That's the wrong mentality from the get-go. We need to move on from the direct comparisons and understand what the benefits of having an EV are. If you take out the pointless argument of daily range requirements and the even less important factor of canyon carving that applies to even fewer daily drivers, EVs. even in TODAY's standards of heavy batteries. do pretty much EVERYTHING better than a regular car. I mean everything.

Now all that-s needed is for us all to become millionaires so that we can buy one! The price of these lecky cars just seem to be getting more and more ridiculous. You-d think the costs involved back in the day with batteries etc would be high, but surely them must be coming down now? Using the bmw i3 as an example, the were 26k when first released, they now cost a whopping 38 to 42k yet its very much the same car that was released in 2013/14 l.

Could this be why the XJ has been scrapped or is it evidence of the JLR wrong thinking when it thinks that there isn-t a market for a luxury EV saloon? Surely the fact that there-s now the Taycan, Etron, Bentley on the way (albeit in the class above) and Model S, the sector will open up again and JLR will be on the back foot. I fear that Bollore will finally kill off the Jaguar. Reminds me of the last years of Rover.

When the day comes that we have to buy these -CRAPPY- electric milk floats im going to buy the cheapest one there is as quite frankly I was driving these electric dodgem cars when I was 5 years old at the fun fair what is the difference may be a couple of doors and there a bit faster! WOW

How long do the Very Expensive Tyres last? 10, 000 klicks if you're damned lucky?
5, 000?
I beat on mine really hard, rotate them twice, and get 15, 000 out of them, perfectly worn across all 4. And they're cheap as hell!

Fantastic review as always.
But in the real world, how many people can afford these cars? When are the manufacturers going to start using their vast knowledge and resources to make cars that the average Joe can actually get into.

I do think the GT is nicer than the RS. The RS has too much carbon fibre throughout the cabin, which doesn't surve any purpose. The GT, with those cloth seats, looks like a much nicer place to sit. Not that I can afford either ahah.

Whether or not you would prefer this car to the corresponding Taycan is a bit like whether you prefer American spelling (for ease) or UK spelling (for authenticity. or something.

Only the Germans would think that supplying press cars in baby's poo brown or Wehrmacht grey was a good idea. I suspect in better colours, this is a very handsome car.
