One little upgrade is Union fittings, so if you ever have another failure you can just replace past the union joint. Less hassle later. Invert the union joint on either the in or out, so you only need to buy 1 union joint later. Or extra parts are nice to have on hand.

Nice work and easy when you have total access to all the equipment and everything works out nicely. The devil is always in the details. A good example is adding the right length of straight run on the intake, but that makes the power feed too short. Yada yada

My Sweet Summer child you know those pumps are rebuildable right and you didn't have to do any Plumbing You could have just replaced the motor that being said I don't know who your suppliers are etc maybe what you did made more sense.

Probably the Start Capacitor. $8. 00 to $1200.
I just showed up to replace a pump for a client, I tried the Capacitor, everything was fine, for under $75 they are up & running, back flushed and have a backup pump for the future.

ngl i consider it lucky the pump didnt have a worse failure while you were gone. My parents tried to warranty their pump because it kept stopping and just humming. they came and said it was fine, next day it caught fire.

Chris as a pool guy i would like to say this was done wrong. Even with the new pump being a little different there is unscrewable pieces on the pipes leading into and out of the pump for this reason. Love the vids tho!

PLEASE BE ADVISED, WIRING DEPENDS ON IF YOUR MOTOR IS 120v OR 240v IF 120V YOUR BLACK WOULD BE L1 AND WHITE ON L2 YOU WILL BLOW YOUR MOTOR, also motor could have been seized or just a capacitor, nice plumbing tho

I don’t use it often but a pvc reamer tool kit has definitely been added to my tool collection for dealing with stuff like this lol. Love you showed how to do it with tools people probably already had tho

Pool boy here, our pipe guy would have tried to straight up maim you over the heat gun trick. But it worked well, the only issue i take is the weird plumbing size choice for your replacement run.

Only thing I would do different is use a PVC reamer. It goes on your drill and is the exact size of the inside of your fitting or valve. So you dont have to heat it up and chip a way at it.

To be fair, the name ChrisFix doesn’t really specify what exactly you fix, we know it’s cars but it could also be anything else. So, this might as well be just any other video of yours.

I'd have put a male pipe thread adapter on that valve to make the next repair easier. Good job though. It's been a long time since I left plumbing behind, I don't miss it.

Why would you waste time taking out the pvc from the valve when you could have just extended from the cut pvc You literally needed to extended the inlet anyway

If that is a VSF3 with the card you should have an electrician rewire your pad. You don’t need the crappy timer switch and you can gain light control via app.

Well, I was literally just looking at how much it would cost to replace my pool pump. Thanks for showing me 10 years later that I can easily just do it myself Chris

A Chinese made motor/pump and replaced with another Chinese made motor/pump. A Baldor motor with overloads will take care of it for a very very long time.
