This video will teach you how to troubleshoot your gas dryer. My gas dryer would not heat up so I will show you the three main pieces in the front of the dryer that should be checked using an ohms meter. It is very easy to do and ANYONE can do this. Just to get this thing checked by a technician would cost 100. Then any parts, which are 4x the price you can get them at, plus 100 or more an hour for labor. By the time you are done, they will charge 250 to fix your dryer (half price for a brand new one. This job takes 1hr if you take your time, and the parts cost under 10

My dryer starts ok. Glow stick glows and then click and gas fires up. After a while, the gas cycles off. After a while of spinning, I'm guessing that it's calling for heat again, because the glow stick glows again, but the gas never comes on. The glows stick will come on and then fade out over and over again. My clothes take a very long time to dry. Would a thermostat be bad in this case? I'm thinking the solenoids that turn on the gas are ok, because they fire on when the dryer starts (when it's cold. Maybe I have a thermostat issue.

Okay. I tested those parts. Changed my solenoids. It glows. I see a flame trying to ignite. It then goes out. I have to say though. I do not get that click sound when it fires up. Mine makes a noisy almost rattling sound. Then it shut off. I imagine its the circuit closing. Any thoughts would be helpful?

ChrisFix HI! My dryer is not heating. I don't see it turn orange to heat up, what is that piece called that I need to replace. I am not sure if i need to replace the solenoids because I am not sure if the problem is if it is not clicking or the problem of not heating (turning orange) Help please =(

Thanks for the video. I have an old dryer (Montgomery Ward - green in color) and it has this problem but at that time, ChrisFix still in 6th grade. I throw that dryer away but what a Shame, all i need is the 279834 Dryer Gas
Valve Ignition Solenoid which cost 5 - 10.

Ok If the fuse and thermostats check out and the flame sensor and igniter check out what else could be the problem if the igniter is not lighting? Could it be the timer switch? Nothing else it could be wrong right?

good video, you only left out 1 more, the centrifugal motor switch, I'm having to mess with mine. Got too much lint in the bottom of the dryer. The contacts on the motor switch for heat got too dirty.

I've got the same dryer as in this video and mine intermittently won't heat up. When it acts up I get no glow. Its driving me crazy. Changed solonoids and that didn't change anything. Any ideas?

Hello I've done the over all checking on my dryer. It lights for a little while. Until I turn it off then turn it but on. But it doesn't light up and it's not getting any heat. What else must I do

I have a Kenmore 700 gas dryer. 2 months ago, it keeps drying even though it has been set time. Now it is NOT hot. What should I first check and what parts should I replace first? Thank you.
