2026 Infiniti QX60 - Infiniti's MDX-Fighter Focuses On Family Friendliness

Infiniti's best-seller isn't their smallest, or most affordable, or their most fun either. It's their family-friendly alternative to the Acura MDX, the long-time best seller in the 3-row premium segment. Well, until recently, when it was overtaken by the Lexus TX. Infiniti's alternative sits smack between the MDX and TX in terms of size, but it focuses on a comfortable cabin, big screens, and child seat friendliness. Is that enough to forgive the awkward engine and transmission combo You tell me. Here's why we don't talk about reliability much: And resale value Same thing:

Such a good overall vehicle, waiting for a much more refined drivetrain, and far fewer black plastics and less haptic (wth. We know about emissions and CAFE reasons, but they've still inexplicably compromised this by ditching the V6 outright w/ no viable alternative. As many have said, though still much better than the CVT it has replaced, it sounds like they still need to improve the transmission operation as well. Finally, they need to expand 2nd row bench availability to all trims. C'mon Infiniti.
P. S. - Kudos on the overall styling--one of the better lookers, hood prop struts and retaining the spare tire.

I do love the look of the qx60 but that turbo engine is not good and they've done reviews and the Pathfinder is actually quieter. If only that turbo engine actually gave better mpg, it's the same mpg as the v6 from the Pathfinder. Better off with the Platinum Pathfinder.

That 4 cylinder got immediately invalidated with the new hurricane 2. 0. that engine doesn't have variable compression and it makes more power and gets even better fuel economy. I just wish Nissan would axe Infiniti already, they simply can't compete
reply

Both the Pathfinder and the QX60 should switch to the Q50 RWD platform with the 3. 5L V6 300HP engine in the Nissan and 3. 7L V6 325HP engine in the Infiniti because Nissan doesn't have a hybrid engine so they should focus on driving dynamics.
reply

Yeah the engine is a deal breaker. I like the styling and features, but if I’m going to pay extra for pretend luxury a little 4-cyl ain’t gonna cut it. I’d rather have the top line Explorer with 405bhp and a 10-speed transmission.

The real question is, did they run out of money designing the entertainment system That's horrible. How does it still look like a Nissan Rogue, you are better off going. The 2026 Nissan Sentra route. I wouldn't get this car for that alone.

this car (and the new coupe version) need a detuned version of the v6 in the Armada. Something with around 320-350 horsepower. Also, what is it with black and blue interior options - gross - looks like a bruise.
reply

Surprised to see that the interior volume is smaller than the Santa Fe and the third row offers better headroom. It also comes with a hybrid option that delivers better mileage than the QX60.

25: 52 the problem with the MDX isn't so much the size as it's fine for what it is. It's the engine that is the issue. It's just not enough power and efficiency as others like BMW.
reply

An actual instrument binnacle separated form the infotainment is such a welcome change and makes this feel way more premium that what Mercedes and BMW are doing.
reply

Why would a MFG send out such a drab, un-camera friendly looking trim for review The QX60 has some awesome colors and interiors but this one isn't one of them.
reply

If the qx60 had the 3. 5 that’s in the qx80 as an option I would have bought the qx60 instead of the qx80 sport that I bought 2 months ago.
reply

Infiniti had the 3. 0t V6 engine from the Q50/Q60 with 400hp. Putting it in here and the QX65 instead of the VC-Turbo would have been a no-brainer.
reply

Please stop recommending three person third row seats in the midsize category. This needs 2-3-2, with a 40/20/40 bench in the middle row.
reply

I would not buy it Alex. I would much rather get the armada. I know it’s a very different class but it’s the best bang for the buck.
reply

Why doo they put the V6 on the Pathfinder but have this crappy 4 cylinder in the Inifnti. Also the sales are due to massive discounts.
reply

I’m one of the only people who dislike the Aisin 8 speed gearbox. I don’t think it’s as well geared as the Aisin 6 speed
reply

What a shame about the engine. Reliability disaster. Why does Infiniti even exist It’s not luxury. It’s not even premium
reply

Alex, just do the videos yourself. Somehow your colleague is hard to watch. Because of him I am watching Scotty Kilmer again.
