m going to share with you the 6 biggest weight loss mistakes that are made that are keeping you fat and preventing you from looking the way you want to, this time around. It is no secret that losing weight can be quite a struggle for many. This constant battle to drop weight and stick to a diet plan serve only to keep you frustrated and lacking confidence in your ability to stick to something. This doesn-t have to be the case. If you understand the real reasons why you are unable to stay consistent, then you will likely unlock your ability to get this right once and for all. This starts with not making yourself accountable. I like to think about this on a much deeper level than just saying you are going to do something and then not doing it. If only you are accountable to yourself without considering others, you will likely not hold this pursuit as dear as you could. Instead, think about what your not sticking to the plan could mean for those that find you to be an important part of their life. Will being unhealthy have an impact on your ability to provide for your family for as long as they are going to need you? Quite possibly so. Will failing to care about your own health set the wrong example for your kids who look up to you and everything you do? Likely so. Start realizing that others are watching and all of a sudden your own ability to value what it is you are chasing might skyrocket. Next is failing to find the eating style that fits your nutritional struggles at the moment. For example, if your main issue is that you mindlessly graze all day and eat at random times and adopt an intermittent fasting approach to fix this, you are likely setting yourself up for failure. Not because intermittent fasting is incapable of producing weight loss but rather in your specific case it is directly opposite of the mannerisms that are most embedded in your approach to eating right now. Instead, you would want to do IF if your issues revolved more on frequent large portion eating. Continuing on with diet and nutrition, what you drink is just as important as what solid foods you put in your mouth when attempting to lose weight. Failing to drink enough water early in the day is something that I-ve covered before on this channel but is no less important here. Seventy five percent of us walk around in a chronically dehydrated state. The secret to combatting dehydration is to never let yourself get there in the first place. Staying ahead starts with drinking 20-30 ounce of water first thing in the morning. Weight training must be a cornerstone of any attempt to lose weight and look good. Whether you are in clothes or out of them, what you see in the mirror is going to be your most honest and immediate feedback on how much you have been sticking to your plan of losing weight. No lean muscle gains will be had from simply walking on the treadmill or calling your workout complete after 45 minutes on a stairclimber. Better start weight training if you want to be impressed and satisfied with what you see looking back at you. Healthy fats are a great thing for a healthy diet, except when it comes to losing weight, and then they must be eaten in moderation. Due to the caloric density of fats vs carbohydrates and proteins, you simply cannot go hog wild eating these if you want to be successful in your attempt to lose weight. This is a common mistake made by people who will argue the health benefits of fats. I-m not arguing with you one bit. I-m just saying, confusing healthy foods for foods that will make you skinny is a common mistake and one that you need to be aware of if losing weight is at the top of your goal list. Finally, you have to some way make this attempt look different from the last time you attempted to lose weight. The second you slip up trying to lose weight the same exact way that you tried to last time, your mind will be flooded with memories of why you were unable to stay committed and you will likely throw in the towel even faster this time. Change the gym you go to, the time you train or even add in some supplements. If you are looking for a workout plan that tells you exactly what to do each day in the gym as well as what to eat to get ripped and stay ripped year round, head to and get one of our ATHLEAN-X Training Systems. Stop leaving your training to guesswork and chance and start training like an athlete and you will be amazed at what you will be able to accomplish this time

I don-t know about any of you but this is what worked for me and I-m and endo meso body type leaning more toward endo. I-m big boned build muscle easily. But I retain water so I can tend to look soft so I can really gain weight easily. But never look truly fat! What worked for me was eating lots and lots of Greek yogurt my body has eliminated so much fat and my abs are back chest legs and arms are still big. Take this with a grain of salt though because like I said this is what worked for me! I would mix my yogurt with walnuts bananas and some granola. Sometimes a little honey or keto maple syrup from Whole Foods. No fat or carbs. I-ve been super ripped in my life and I-ve been chubby I-ve also been about 240lbs of muscle with just some water retention! I believe just over all making better eating choices will help meal prep drink coffee water if your worried about dehydration just drink more water or eat foods high in energy such as complex carbs ect.

Jeff, your advice has helped me in many instances to improve my workout. I am not fully in line with your nutritional advice. Yes, diet comes BEFORE exercise but building muscle AND loosing weight is really hard if not impossible. Exercise and caloric restriction is wrong and will fail like all cal in vs out approaches. People first need to drop the weight by kicking carbs, focusing protein and fat wirh IF and then cycle into bulking with training and back to fat loss. The length of the cycle is individual. Without weight loss first the exercise usially fails. It always makes did with me. I took a year to loose 40 pounds and the rebuilt 15 punds of muscle in 7 month. Obviously gaining weight back. Now I do fasts regularly in training breaks to control the fat. At least that is my way at 65.

I don't think that carbohydrates are a problem in moderation if you are borderline diabetic cutting down complex carbohydrates as a positive thing intermittent fasting seems to help also but all carbohydrates are not the same. Regardless of what any of you guys want to say is a big difference between eating carbohydrates and broccoli and eating sugar candy. It doesn't mean you never get complex carbs but I cut them down markedly. Still need to caloric intake. But I can eat half of an avocado and 2 eggs and not eat again until dinner. When I start eating is like potatoes. I gain love handle complex carbs like potatoes pasta and rice. As soon as I come out I look leaner and healthier.

I just started watching your videos and I've already learned so much in just the three or four that I've gotten to. I started doing push ups but they just didn't feel right doing them the way I was so I looked up a video on how to do proper push ups and found yours and started doing them the way you showed and I'm already feeling much better and different results from what I was doing. Thank you for your videos and bringing the truth to the table about everything, showing that you really want to make people look and feel great about themselves and not just want to empty their wallets. I plan on watching many more of your videos and transforming myself into a better me.

Love your videos but not super sold on the fat aspect. I've never had better weight loss progress than when I've massively upped my fat intake and reduced my carb intake. Eating fats makes your body far less hungry and carbs spike insulin which absolutely increases overall hunger. Eating a high fat diet make is easier to balance your CICO even though fats are calorically dense.
You are correct on the good fats part. A high fat diet filled with processed fats isn't good for you. If you go high fat it needs to come from fish, nuts, AVOCADOS and good oils.

Well I went into it this time around with the goal of, not to lose weight, but to reduce body fat. Difference in phrasing changes my perspective and approach. Haven't touched a single scale or kept track of maxes etc. Not the absolute best way of going about it, but taking your mind off of those things I over focused on is helping tremendously as they can break you if things aren't going as expected. I'll weigh in farther down the line and see how it goes, but for now it's just blindly keeping my nose to the grindstone.

Love your videos, great guy and mentor. You had me till fats lol I've been on keto and a 16/8 with a little lifting sprinkled in. In a 7 week period I've lost 4. 5 inch's on my waist and 32lbs. I don't doubt you know and are more experienced than I that's why I love your videos and ever other point in this video I fully believe your right! Thanks again for the video and look forward to more.

Thank you a lot for your videos Jeff! I was unaware that nuts(walnuts/brazil nuts)/raisins were calorie dense. I actually eat a bunch of them with my salad, and will now cut back on those foods. Also, thanks for shedding light on carbohydrates(rice. I recently eliminated most of it from my diet, but will add it back.

I was steadily training at home all of 2020 didn't work out to great but it still worked a bit. Started going to the gym this year, I like it but its tough so many people go there, and its super tough to get an actual athletic workout in since there isn't much space. Don't have many gym options around either
