US It has been upheld by the supreme court for Personal Use you can break DRM, but because law abiding people do that, and don't distribute there are no cases, If media companies tried they would immediately lose. DRM is a choice by the Media companies, its added cost but in no way affects the business relationship of you buy a product you expect that you can use the product and the grey area is if the product isn't available in that market then it in no way monetarily damages the company. In other words technically Media companies are telling you its ok to break encryption and drm because they have no product to be monetarily damaged
I always refer to the Anime case,
Japanese animation the Supreme court deemed that if Japanese(or Foreign) companies were not going to release the media in the US then they could not pursue a case against websites or people that hosted their media, as the only damages are monetary damages that can be awards and if they never put forth the effort into releasing a product then they have no grounds for criminal or civil pursuit. Crunchyroll got sued because of Dragonball in the early days, because you cannot stream something that they sell or stream in the US already.
So taking that into account eventually on technology the Supreme court will eventually have to rule on something like this, Companies actively being hostile to regular customers making them jump through hoops and their ridiculousness may eventually lead to regulations on what media companies can and cannot do, its just like the regional disk locking that is of an archaic business model that once served a purpose but really no longer does.
Oh actually this was already decided, a Publisher sued a group of people that reverse engineered an online game that they abandoned, one of the charges was they broke DRM protocols the supreme court stated they abandoned the product and thus had no monetary damages that could be awarded, and because the group was not profiting off doing what they were then they had no claim.
So in technicality if an Application was released that reverse engineered and broke DRM to allow viewing(Like a Blue Ray playing software) legally bought materials they would have no case because they abandoned the platform.

Gordon is just flat-out 100% wrong about the OED. He seems to think that they're some kind of prescriptivist entity that tries to tell people what the meaning of words should be. They're not. They're descriptivists. They don't tell people what words mean, they record how people use words. That's why they include words like -LOL-, or -heart- as a transitive verb: not because they're telling anyone how to english, but simply because those are words people currently use.
So if they give the meaning of the word -console-, they're not coming down some mountain with some stone slabs or something, they're simply describing how people use that word.
If Gordon had intentionally tried to be wrong (which is a possibility I do not discount, he could not have succeeded at being wrong any better than he has in this episode.
Thank you for your attention, please come to my TED talk.

honestly windows 10 didnt come with 4k playback without a purchase of a app of some kind and if i remember correctly you couldnt even play blu rays. before windows 10 you could play dvds. i belive microsft said it wanted to save the 2 uk pound cost per software. personally i felt that was a terrible choice and its a reason out of terrible hdr why i now use a shield pro for my digitasl content and i hate that. so windows 11 not haveing 4k suport doesnt surprise me. i dont even use the pc for my physical player anymore because windows 10 was so bad at it.
wanted 4k gameing so had no choice bought a xbox series x for 470 and game pass for 6 months and im set. so if gpus dont come down to resonable itll be a long day in hell before i buy one. but i would happily pay 699 for a 3080 and 3 years ago i wouldnt id pay 430 for a 3070 and be upset lol.

i used to be all digital till 2018 when i bought a projector. i found blu rays had atmos so started bying blue rays over streaming, then when 4k came out i realised how much better the sound and picture was on my 100inch screen on a 4k uhd projector. its such a big difference that in the 3 years i started buying blue rays and 4ks i have gone from 4 physical blue rays to 200 blu rays and 100 4k and 60 3d dvd discs as i wanted to keep 3d and a projector and a big screen was a good reason to. i hope streaming becomes same level as a physicl disc casue i love all digital but untill it can match the quality im stuck to buying physical. luckly the player was cheap. i bought my first xbox a xbox s for the brilliank 4k drive and recently i purchased a series x, so the s has become a 4k backup in spare room.

My guess is that the 3050 will play well at 1440p because it seems like the 3000 series cards all do better at 1440p and up.
And I'm not saying this card is not a 1080p card. It is. But sometimes there isn't much of a difference turning the resolution from 1080p to 1440p on the 3000 series cards.
And if the games have dlss then you can definitely play the game at 1440p and probably get better results than playing at a 1080p.
But I don't get to get free cards to test so I can only look at other reviewers. And to some extent that's what I've witnessed. But I already thought this before I watched any review.
What do you think? Brad should definitely do another set of benchmarks at 1440p and test out the dlss results and the regular results. -

Steam Deck is more of a updated netbook with a apu that can run pc games at nice playable frame rate and graphics settings, which also includes a built in gamepad. I would call it console if they locked down the OS like Sony, Nintendo, and Xbox do, letting you only run their games. But Valve lets you install Linux or Windows OS so letting you run video editing software on the system itself and not in the browser ie cloud like a Xbox would.

That is a good point about Intel. They could make the new real budget graphics card but haven't you all been saying that they're going to come out with a 3070 performance GPU for the desktop first? Maybe I just misunderstood.
Obviously they could just make a lower end card. And they probably should. Intel can make a name for themselves again in the GPU market since they're until integrated graphics for many many years sucked.

An RTX 3050 would never have sold under $200. The reason they brought out the GTX cards is cuz they couldn't build it cheap enough with the RTX features. Therefore, Nvidia has been showing that they're at least trying this time around. Even with the high cost of things right now which is across the board as I've already stated in other posts.
I don't think there's any reason to complain about this card at all.

That was me! -
I know that the 6500XT is not designed for that particular used case, it is an extreme example. but can you honestly say that is an acceptable difference?
-Today- the price difference between those two cards -was- 75 - here in Spain.
Also, I like the -just sit tight- advise -a lot more- than last week's advise of -go buy it, there is nothing else-

I'm sorry, the Steam Deck cannot possibly be a console by definition. To claim that, you are also making the claim that every personal computer, cell phone, tablet, etc. is also a console. If you want to call everything by the same name then you're basically advocating the destruction of language. When a word means everything it effectively means nothing.
