Camera Raw 18.5 Select Subject / Select Background Issue
I’ve tested this several times in Camera Raw 18.5, and I noticed an issue with the Select Subject and especially Select Background feature.
When trying to select the background of a RAW image, Camera Raw sometimes fails to create the selection and shows an error instead. I tested it multiple times with different images, but couldn’t figure out why this is happening.
So I wanted to bring this to everyone’s attention: the Select Subject / Select Background feature in Camera Raw 18.5 does not seem to be working properly in some cases.
Has anyone else experienced the same issue If you know the reason or a fix, please share it. It would be really helpful.

Thank you very much! I told Gemini to fix the akne in the last example and it did a really good job. All I had to fix was remove a mole it added for some weird reason. Gave Firefly a try with the same prompt. It was a total mess since it altered the image even though I told it not to.

I like that the tech is getting better but its now kinda taken the fun out of retouching. So much of the nitty gritty stuff is now just a click away and that stuff was kinda fun to experiment with. Now i'm just not having the same fun I used to

I like that logic. I’ve got an extra 20 pounds around my midsection that might disappear in a couple of months if I started fasting and working out like a pro. So I think it’s perfectly acceptable to just remove it in Photoshop now. Lol.

I mean...its cool...would be cooler if its in Lightroom classic too and I use Retouch4Me and Evoto since 2020 or earlier...Adobe needs to step up there game!!! But the results are crazy good. Not gonna lie
