I think you guys make some valid points regarding the 6500 XT, but I still think your argument is flawed for 2 main reasons:
1) The 4 lane limit for the PCIe interface is a critical flaw for this card. I like that the market now has an option of a 4GB card to avoid miner scalping, but given that in most modern games you're gonna be bumping up on the VRAM limits, they really shouldn't have gimped the PCIe interface like this. This flaw will be more pronounced on PCIe 3. 0, which is likely for most gamers wanting to use this card. Also keep in mind that Zen 2/3 and Rocket Lake only support PCIe 4. 0 on 500 series board, so having those CPUs isn't guaranteed if you have a 400 series board.
2) As we all expected, these cards are not $200 in street price. My local Microcenter had a PowerColor ITX model for $200 on launch day (yesterday, but the priced has already gone up to $260. Based on sold eBay listings, you can get a GTX 1650 Super pretty easily for $250 to $300. With that card, you get similar performance (on PCIe 4. 0 or 3. 0 systems, and you get great encoding and more display outputs. So this card isn't even competitive with the awful used market.

The decode/encode problem with the useless RX 6500XT is due to it being a laptop GPU. When designing it, the expectation was that there already is another GPU inside the CPU, either Intel or AMD. Since both Intel and AMD laptop iGP-s have hardware encoding/decoding, the Radeon group removed this feature such that it does no get used accidentally and draw more power by taking the -card- out of the idle state.
Going from PCIe X16 to PCIe X4 probably saved AMD and the AIB partners about 23 cents, or 0. 1% of the MSRP. Seeing how there are no available cards at MRSP, but plenty at $350 directly from ASUS and the likes, it's tiresome to keep figuring the lies from the truth. Just don't buy any GPU and accept it. I have two Vega 56 that died and I refuse to buy any overpriced garbage at any price point. It's better to use some R9 270X and an RX 550 from the closet than participate in this global scam.

hey everyone, im looking to buy a 6800xt and 6600xt for 2 different desktops, out of all the cards brands out there which should i buy.
im thinking gigabyte/aorus for both cards
or asus (i do not like the asus phones, my last asus motherboard was the crosshair v formula-z am3)-this was a great motherboard.
i have a x570 aorus pro am4 ryzen 2600 (planning my next upgrade for the ryzen 5600 or 5800) which will be paired with the 6800xt.
the 6600xt will for now go into a older desktop for now and upgrade everything to am4 in q2/q3 2022 with a x470, ryzen 2600 or newer ryzen cpu ( i may use my current parts in this upgrade or buy new)

Brad and Gordon on 6500xt. ---
1. 4gb at $200. ---
2. Performance. ---
3. Future proof for anything. ---
Stop making excuses for your friends at AMD.
If Nvidia brought this garbage out at $200 you'd be pissing all over it.
People should wait for 3050s to see if they offer more for price.
People should save and buy a prebuilt to get a better GPU. Yes. Save. Why? 2 years of complaints is enough time to save.
Cause covid. Cause shipping. Stop.
This card is not worth $200 in any market. Period. 64bit? At $200. -
I'd say pass on this. Send a message consumers.
That's all I want to say. Have a good day. --

The only way to beat scalpers is by inundating the market with a card that cover the bare minimum of PC gaming but is worthless to miners, the 3050 isn't that.
There is no way Im purchasing an RX470/480 or anything that had been tortured for years to dead by miners for the same amount that this new card is supposed the be going for.
A 4GB used for less than this card could be an option once this card cover the drought, everything else is mining territory.

You are all disgusting. You should be ashamed of yourself for deceiving the audience. The mental gymnastics you do, the straight up lies you are telling, the rigging of test and benchmarks you, just to make this thing look not shit.
All to please your money givers / advertiser (AMD, Nvidia, Intel. If I were living in the USA i would drag you to court for not disclosing advertising and frauding the audience.

RX 6500 XT. Does this card improve in to the shitty situation we are currently or it doesn't?
Apparently people pretend that this shit goes away just like magic, hell I want it to go away, but reality don't care about what we want only what we can.
Even if RTX 3050 suck at mining it will attract every good damn gamer that don't want to spend 600 bucks for a 3 year old 200$$ card.

This is a breath of fresh air. I thought I was going crazy. This card is exactly what the market needed. A cheap card. Yeah you have to tweak settings to get playable performance, but it's a $200 GPU in a world of thousand dollar GPUs. I too would get approached by people asking me which budget GPU to get, and I couldn't recommend anything, for 2 years.

lol - Brad trying to be diplomatic. It is objectively the worst graphics card for at least the last decade. As reviewers we need you guys to offer an honest evaluation and opinion, not perform mental gymnastics to try and justify a vendor's product. This card costs more and performs worse, and has fewer features than the old RX570/580 4GB. Disliked.

We also need to take into account the reality of the RECORD profits that AMD and Nvidia have made in 2021! what happened to all that money that '(we are for gamers) could have added those encoding, higher bandwidth to x8 and even 6GB. problem here is that AMD are getting away with it big time and you are giving them a pass! Stunning.
