Is a thermosiphon the best air cooler for Threadripper? - Ask a PC expert
video description
Being ground to earth with your customer they will most likely respect the company for not sugarcoat their products with unreal expectations. I do use an AIO but honest the fans ramping up making me consider going back to air cooler, or just buy better quieter fans that perform better at lower rpm.

Dr. Katie with all my respect you did an awesome job! I've watched Linus test video and this is amazing! There is no need AIO anymore because of you. You beat the AIO's with this little guy. I know The product is new and new series is on the way but you need to solve the Copper problem. Also you should do an AM4 version and 120mm version for lower the price.
Thank you again for doing amazing change on the market and I think you can reach more people if you send sample to Gamers Nexus.

Also from pcworld:
-The last weakness of the ProSiphon Elite is that it performs best at very high thermal loads. If you-re rolling a 32-core Threadripper or an 18-core Core i9, it does relatively well. If you-re running a Ryzen 7 or a Core i7, then it really won-t matter because those CPUs don-t produce enough heat for the ProSiphon Elite to be effective. You-ll see very little difference between the ProSiphon Elite and a typical AiO or heat-pipe cooler. -

AIOs more moving parts more prone to failure. -. you don't say.
One thing that has changed is the liquids being used in AIOs, some being non conductive.
Noise. more moving parts once again.
Size. now this is one that air coolers are not doing well sure there are small air coolers. a small air cooler with this tech in copper form would be interesting. but we need small lol SFF is becoming big

A little afraid about the gravity stuff. Not all the the cpu are mount vertical, mine is horizontal under my desk, I did get it really well, she said that is related to gravity and then say that is gravity independent. Don't get me wrong I'm really exited about this, I'm not a big fan of liquid system ( couple accidents ) but I still have some questions. But definitely I will give it a try.

Hi Gordon! I really like this video, especially the clear explanation by Dr Carpenter. May I repost this video on a Chinese platform called BiliBili? Thermosyphon cooling is a novel way to cool the modern high-power density CPUs and maybe even GPUs. And there isn't much information about it on the Chinese internet. I think a video like this one would be greatly informative. Thank you!

This question is for the scientist.
Specifically, does Ice Giant know if the planned copper base will be nickel plated?
If so, then I am more than sold.
I use Liquid conductonaught, liquid metal thermal paste and would love to able to use this on the Ice Giant ProSiphon.
Congratulations on designing a an awesome product for thread ripper.
Thank You!

All coolers are thermosiphons. It just means it siphons energy away from the heat source. This is the same tech as copper heat pipes, except using different liquid. She's kinda full of it.
I am happy they are making better coolers.
This retail version is much better than the prototype if it can cool equally as good.

I saw other videos on the prosiphon elite late last year, and I thought that's neat, maybe I'll get one once its been proven to work good. After watching Katie explain it in this video, I pre-ordered one. I could use an upgrade from my ancient Zalman cooler, and I think this will be the perfect setup for what I need.
