Android Q gestures: Apple rip-off?

Mike shows us the new ways to navigate your Android phone in Q, and explain some ways it could of been better. Shot on a Canon C200 Nikko: I'm usually against companies copying each other, it's kind of annoying. But with what Google did with the gestures and copying Apple, I'm more than fine with it; because to me there is no simpler and more intuitive way to do it.
At the end of the day it's about the user experience, and that the average user wouldn't give a damn about who copied who.
I get what you mean about why Google can't make a BETTER gesture than the current one they copied from Apple. But whatever. I'd 100% pick it over the 2-button gesture navigation we got on Pie.
Pie's 2-button nav, I gotta admit, I got really used to after a few weeks of using it. But Apple's is just more intuitive. I've used iPhone X's gestures only a few times in my life because I'm no Apple user. But I gotta admit it's the most intuitive nav possible for a phone. It's sooo natural. A few more refinements of the same navigation in Q Google can already emulate how smooth and natural it feels just like on the iPhone X.
Talking about the back gesture, I am more than satisfied with it because of how I can just swipe from both edges of my screen to go back. It feels so good that I can reach it from anywhere; one-handed, using my left or right hand -- doesn't matter.
The hamburger side menu: I agree that Google has destroyed it. And I think that's what they're going with. But how in the ass are they implementing the side menus in the future? If you ask me, I think they'll implement it in the way that it currently is on the Google Tasks app: the hamburger icon will be moved to the lower left of every Google app. Simple as that. And to me that's always better because of how reachable the button would be if that'd happen.

why copy? why! -google? Are you guys that lazy and Dumb!
No headphone jack - Copy
Notch - Copy
Now again, Gestures - Copy
make sure you copy the punch hole camera in a good way for the next pixel. or else you can create a crater of a punch hole!
Funny enough, they copy the bad things and make them the worst! Just like that giant notch, and those confusing gestures.
All i need to say is that, you can't have what somebody else have at all the time. Grow mature and have your own stuff! You can't be what you are not!
?
I wish apple was Huawei(no offence) so that now you'd have no where to copy bad stuff from. -google
May be you'd have copy good stuff from Samsung!
I feel bad for what is happening to Huawei though.

I love both Apple and Google for what what they are or represent as individual companies but totally and so much hate how Google wants to rip off everything Apple.
1. Apple's notch to begin with
2. Apple's minimal RAM allocation (as if both used the same systems-------)
3. Now Apple's gestures
4. Apple's pricing strategies
They're just depriving us of options for crying out loud cuz if I'm paying for a pixel phone as an iPhone user, or vice-versa, it's because I want a totally new but equally great or better experience. Which is currently use not the case cuz Google keeps copying Apple blindly (not even perfectly) and it's so annoying--------

Nope. Samsung's current OneUI implementation is not intuitive. I've tested with some 'regular joe' friends and co-workers. They quickly switch back because no one remembers where back, home and recents are without the visual cue of the icons. And no, the 3 pilled shaped icons don't help. I am 100% for Android copying iOS navigation. I'd rather be on the side of technology that adapts and evolves sensible enhancements and features quickly than one where you have to beg for years just to get something useful, like setting default apps and being able to use home screen widgets.
Edit: '-not intuitive-' not '-intuitive-'

Wow what a rant. The new gestures are a million times better than what was in Pie. Those were a laughable half attempt.
The only thing the new gestures are missing is being able to hide the pill and making the back gesture only work on the bottom 75% of the screen, so that hamburger menus still work.
Ser Huaweis

What is he talking about? Gestures came from stock Android years ago. iPhone took the gestures and created navigation gestures witch was brilliant. I use fluid navigation gestures from the app store bc I can customize it the way I want. If you don't like the gestures, use the original 3 buttons instead.

Google not copying apple, they just giving their users what they want, And its in beta stage so its. Of fully stable. I like these gestures more than oneui, bcoz it feels like we are controlling the movements of those cards( windows. Apple also copied features from android like grouped notification
reply

No one complaining that apple copying from android
1. Grouped Notification
2. swipe keyboard in iOS 13
3. New minimal volume control in iOS 13
4. Widgets are also coming in iOS 13
Too many things apple copying you can Google it
But apple fan Bois always think apple is original

reply

These gestures were NEVER an invention of Apple. Sorry but all apple did was just incorporate them into iOS. The swipe to go forward & back was first utilised in a browser called UC browser almost a decade ago, then some launchers came with the swipe to go to the app drawer & some.
reply

Imagine being mad at getting better gestures. So don't shamelessly copy iPhone but yes shamelessly copy Samsung? Cut the bs and cut the Apple hate, they did gestures the better way and luckily Google is smart enough to realize it instead of try to avoid the better option
