I think AMD needs to think a little about their cheap offering.
He said is cool that some can even game with a 50 dollar APU even in 720p but i don't think that is real.
Even in 720p is hard to game with only 3 Vega units and games look like shit.
There are poor people out there that will love to get something decent for a small price and avoid the costs and complications of graphics cards etc.
I think AMD is better of giving them at least 5 Vega units so they can get some 720p playing without having everything on low detail and low frames. Why go so low at giving them only 3? I mean the next APU offerings are 8 and 11. Those have 3 units difference between them so why is the Athlon 5 units behind? Make it 3 difference across the board.
Also from his words his basically saying that the 3000G is for people to overclock. But most people don't overclock. Only enthusiast computer guys overclock even if it is easy now our days.
Besides the poor person can't buy expensive coolers etc to push the limits so the overclocking is limited to a little small step that the included cooler allows without getting too noisy and the processor too hot.
A person looking for this is someone that wants a PC that can make most things even humbly and feel like he can at least enjoy a full PC experience.
If they can't do that at 50 maybe they should make another APU at 65 dollars or something with 5 Vega units active while the CPU is another 200Mhz above the 3000G.

Talking about C-state, I recently discovered that C-state has to be DISABLED so I can enter safemode. I wanted to update graphics driver and I tried to use DDU in safe mode and windows crashed on me when inputting passwords. About half a year ago the same thing happed to me I blamed MS for they messed up 2004. But this time it's the 1909 I reinstalled. eventually I reset the BIOS and it worked. Since I have a folder full of BIOS settings saved to an USB drive, I loaded old settings and compared them till I found the culprit. It's not PBO, it's not memory overclocking, it's the global C-state. Yeah I should not have enabled it for saving a few watts from CPU. R7 2700x/ x470 m7 AC/ Radeon VII/ HX1000

Ryzen's walking the walk at the moment & with Intel having no immediate response we're seeing the market flipped upside down. I'm glad, I've been moaning about Intels quad core mainstream limit since Ivy-bridge so for now I'm going to stick with Ryzen until Intel offer a reasonably priced multi-core alternative, Intel brought today's market changes on themselves by becoming complacent with mainstream users.

Can anyone say if the eco mode can be scheduled (eg overnight) and could it be set to come out of eco mode if a sort of 'wake up' call was made on the CPU as in a demand requiring more power - similar to waking from sleep? Thinking home NAS/HTPC/media server - would be great to have the whole CPU idle at a lower TDP

and then they will forget old motherboards when they could have made cpu specific -if the power is the problem a low power cpu would be choices but I guess Intels was of doing business is more appeling

This is such a fantastic casual and informative insight in to AMD and Modern Day CPU market in general. I've watched it a few times now. Great Job and Thank You -PCWorld and Robert Hallock

soo. he exactly dont know what he is talking about CPPC and CPPC preferred caused lag spikes in games when multitaksing on zen 2. many people with 3900x turned it off and never had lag spikes again.

checked my bios after this and found both Cstate and Cool&Quiet when i actually searched for those setting but didn't see them listed. (may have missed them as it was a quick check)

Thanks guys! Before i cant get turbo boost enabled cause my Motherboard Bios have Global C-estate desabled, so i turned it on and now i can reach my 4ghz turbo boost!

Well the threadripper is heavier because its two CPU dies glued together. ;)
Lets glue two i9-9900KS CPUs together and get a 16 core 32 thread 5. 0 GHz monster
