It's because people are worried about what decisions Sony and MS are making for these unupgradeable boxes. It makes me feel better to know that they will have zen2 CPU cores instead of Jaguar like the old consoles, or zen1 or zen+, because that's great tech for a console. HUGE upgrade over last gen's CPUs, that's like FX to zen2? And now they're supposed to have hardware raytracing in the GPUs? Seeing as how AMD's current highest end Desktop GPUs don't have that, and Nvidia is pushing raytracing pretty hard, this is also comforting to know.
That next gen consoles aren't already outdated (by too much anyway. They aren't giving full tech specs or anything, just dropping little hints like -don't worry we're paying attention to where gaming is going and planning accordingly- because it is changing somewhat rapidly right now. I'm a PC gamer mainly, but Sony has absolutely killed it this gen on exclusives, if you have missed out on all of them you are missing some of the best games ever made in the history gaming. PC can do a lot, but it can't launch PS4 or PS5 games.
Also, I wonder if they're fitting all of this in an APU again somehow or what, because I'd like to know HOW they are doing that if they are, or if they aren't and the consoles will have a dGPU, how are they going to do all this stuff for the price that a console needs to be to sell 80+ million boxes. Or are Sony and MS losing their minds again like Sony with the PS3? Or MS with the Xbox One? They both have made bad decisions that cost them dearly. Like I can already see them shooting for 8k and 30fps over the 1080p/1440p upscaled to 4k and 60+fps everybody actually wants, because they are clueless sometimes. Just ask Phil Spencer why they didn't shoot for 60fps, I believe his answer was -who cares about that? - lol smfh. Gotta give the guy who was asking him credit, his response was -that's the only thing most people care about. -

The only reason most people use windows is because of direct X an if Vulkan gets going properly a lot of us would jump to linux based O/S as we know it way safer an faster than windows.
Plus you don't get updates that screws up your system for days to you jump over to the forums to find out how to fix it.
Windows an microsoft have lost me years ago an my main work system is already Linux an once Vulkan covers the games i play then my gaming system with go Linux as well.
I must say Microsoft have gone a long way since they started after stealing the code.

Wolfenstein: New Blood is still missing the RTX patch. NVidia is not delivering on their promise. RTX seems too complicated even for NVidia themselves.
Btw: This show has become a real joke in the same way as the computer industry has become a joke. Only buzzwords without any substance. Brainless spec-sheet di-k measuring.
Doing something useful with a computer in todays time seems a novelty. Having tech sitting around just to wait and buy the next crap.

The 5500 uses 128bit bus and the 1650 SUPER will likely cost sub$150, the 1660 SUPER will maybe cost sub$200, so even the 5500XT should stay away a good gap from $200, while the mentioned $150 for the non XT looks likely.

I paid $360 taxes and shipping included and I would not have paid any more for it especially with the 3600x breathing down its neck. A $250 CPU is almost destroying a $350ish CPU? I will be buying AMD next go around.

AMD carpet bombs intel for 2 years constantly, intel just sits there taking it. -

BTW, didn't Microsoft also just announce a year in advance their Neo and Duo devices? They even showed the actual hardware. So one year lead time of new hardware is not new or bizarre.

Gordon's accent on the promo video was way closer to an Australian accent than British. The other accent sounded a nerd from Hicksville. LOL! However, it was fun to watch. Good job.

I would love if AMD start to include a basic iGPU on all their CPUs, in the I/O section for example now that they are in different silicon than their CCXs

nvidia are claiming the credit, saying that rtx FORCED consoles / amd to 'step up'
complete bollocks though as the patents for amd's rt was filed in 2017
