Framing and Trimming Interior Window and Door Frames with Rough Sawn Lumber in My Log Cabin

Using milled rough cut, green pine lumber, I install window and door frames and face trim in the interior of my off grid log cabin in the Canadian wilderness. mimi: I saw a unique layout in a log cabin (Upper Peninsula of Michigan) that had the loft over the west side not over the North side. The bedrooms were so much bigger and if allowed for stairs, not just a ladder.

Good morning! Good to see another video. Wondering if you plan to put basic hinged exterior wood shutters on the exterior of your windows with nails driven through like spikes that you csn close as desired to deter bears that try and enter the cabin? I've seen a lot of folks do this in bear regions. Also some do it on exterior doors and false door exteriors too in heavy bear regions. The videos I've seen when bears come through doors they literally bust the doors down right off the frames - easy peezy and the doors fly off. Sooner or later it's bound to happen, just wondering if you've considered it. Lastly, do you ever bear hunt for the meat? Ive tried it, didnt care for it same with moose meat - not sure of their preparation and marinading efforts but it didnt taste good to me. Naturally if I had no choice in order to survive yes I'd eat it, but given choice it wasn't for me. Thanks.

if you want to make easy metals in wilderness, and have salt + water or sea water, then you can electrolyse that to NaOH + bleach + hydrogen, and the NaOH to Na with molten electrolysis, with both Na and H, you can make every kind of metal from their ores, just roast the ore sulfides/sulfates to oxides, and you might also want to bubble the SO2 gas from that to H2SO4 acid, also the salt water electrolysis makes H + CL, so HCl acid, chlorialkali process, but home brew, just solar/heat-turbine electricity to power it all, very simple, just bootstrap it with some gear

I think I need a new hand saw. Out of the 6 I own I have nothing that would cut big boards as fast as Shawn s does. Or is it all that sawing and chiseling that s made his arm much stronger?

The lighter colored trim really compliments the darker logs. Looking great. Lots of talent and hard work. Well done.
