Making a Rustic Wood Table for My Off Grid Log Cabin Cabin Life Again, Finally!

It's a busy, productive week at my off grid log cabin as I transform the interior from a construction zone into a comfortable living space, including the addition of this rustic pine table I made for the dining area. Atholl: Now look at the bedding situation from my point of view, I claimed this as my part of the cabin utilities, after all I do live here and I am coming on for my senior years so surely that entitles me to some compensation, whether it is to sleep on a blanket on a cushion or a nice comfortable bed as Dad is not allowing me to sleep on the chair. And because of my spread out ability being I am a big dog, I reckon I heated his area up for him, so what is he moaning about? You tell him folks in the comments, us dogs need a platform to speak out from just as much as humans. Woof!

These views you posted of the interior of your cabin on this episode really gives us a good perspective of the living space you ve created. I thoroughly enjoyed the pause you took with your feet up and book in hand to take a brief look around in front of you. You have to feel proud of yourself, as you should Shawn, this cabin build at your age is an amazing accomplishment, and I wish you all the best of times to come in that homestead!
Look forward to every moment you share buddy, great job with your content and editing as always, and a huge thank you once again for sharing!

I can understand that shore line being a favorite place. Fortunately much of that area remains wild. The weather has been quite strange in NORTH AMERICA this year. It's January and we had violent rain storms and tornados here in Georgia yesterday, Now its 20 degrees (F) cooler today. The west coast is experiencing weather similar to the late 1960's in winter. (a 50 cycle maybe.
Well, stay warm, dry, and busy. ;-)

Cali sitting on the steps in the sun, you carrying out the extra, long pieces of the table wood outside and wishing she would move an inch. Cali goes nope. thanks but I'm just fine right here!
Shawn, is there anything you can't build? It must feel just awesome to see what you've created with your own hands! And mostly without power tools. I can almost build a fire in the fireplace.

If this gentleman can build all this by himself with just hand tools, just imagine what he could do with a full construction company and crew! We wouldn't have houses collapsing everytime a good stiff breeze comes blowing in that's for sure! This home is so well made that his descendants will be enjoying it for many centuries I expect.

Shawn you are a very good rustic builder, carving out your beautiful abode in the wilderness, great job. It gives me energy to work on my place and plan the things I want to do as I move toward my 84 birthday this year, way cool indeed. I built a table to mount my table saw on so I can reach it in my wheelchair.

We have a favorite spot in the Appalachians where we want our ashes spread, too. It's as if our shed bodies will become part of the Nature we love. Hope you get Cali's bed choice straightened out soon - the cabin is looking more homey by the day! Great job on the table, too.

Just beautiful! It would be an honor to have your ashes spread in such a glorious place. I have wondered if you shudder a little thinking of being in suits and the city. Nice place to visit but.
Its a wonderful home you have built for your family and yourself.

So how was your night sleeping on Calli's bed? I think she let you know who's it is. My word Shawn, you could build an engine on that table! Your little cabin in the woods is really starting lol look homey. When is the other half going to spend the night?

So much to love in this video. Thank you Mr. James for bringing us all this great content to enjoy. I know you're still working hard at it but it's nice to see you enjoying yourself too. How gratifying it must be to kick back and take it all in.

I'm fairly certain when he gets everything built for this cabin and the wife and he are living full time in it, the inside decor will change a bit. Who wants to bet the fur curtains will be the first to go? Enjoy them while you can Shawn! LOL!

Beautiful wild bush, nature at it's best, I like your how you made the rustic table, the cabin looks cozy though I know you have more work to do on it. I knew Calie would chose your mattress before the large pillow you put down for her. lol

Love Cali Girl! Thanks Shawn. You're creating a wonderful, very functional sanctuary, and I must say, this is my favorite part, the interior design and furnishings. Looking forward to what's up ahead. Happy and Healthy New Year 2023!

Cabin looks great, starting to look like a home. Loved how Callie took your bed. The table looks nice. Guess you didn't have Christmas there this year. Can't wait for your new projects outside. Are you making another Pizza Over again.
