Had to see your variation on green chile stew. I am from Northern New Mexico. Here the Native Indians have influenced us and us them in our cooking. I make my stew with pork and potatoes like you. I fry the meat and potatoes, but not all the way. This helps the potatoes to hold up in the cooking. We also use more potatoes and tomatoes. We also use corn and calabazas. We season with salt, pepper, o ion and garlic. Nor oregano or other spices. We also use more o ion. We don't use both of any kind. We usee lots of water and cook it slowly on the stove top usually. If we want to thicken it or add a bit more flavor we will use some blue corn flour. If we do this in the crockpot, we set it on low, add everything in, potatoes in bigger chunks and let it go all day. Yum!

I need your help I think Gochujang. Years ago a guy who worked with my husband would bring these burritos to work. Sometimes he swapped with my husband on their lunches. Those burritos were so good. His wife said she just cooked down a pork roast and added, onion, potatoes, jalapeno's and the hatch green chilis. Her stew was very thick and would fit easily into a tortilla. I'm not sure if this is the right recipe you do but I bet it's close. I've searched for years and cannot replicate what she made. What is your opinion on this story. :-)

Have never had this dish, looks yummy! That's just one of the many things I love about your recipes - trying new dishes I would never know to make on my own Would one of those butane flame thingies work to to char the chiles? Hoping I can find chiles in my little hick town or Wally World to try this. I may need a little helper Oh groan, tortillas again. The only one of your recipes I can't seem to get right, but I keep trying & it's all me. You can't give better more detailed instructions Thanks!

I have to use plastic gloved when I peel my hatch chiles. Even the mild ones make my hands burn. I also learned the hard wya to not rum my face or eyes. It only took ONCE! I buy several pounds of chiles and char them to remove the skin and the seeds. I lay them flat and freeze them for use during the winter for a good hearty green chile stew when it is cold and snowy. Thanks you for this video. It looks delicious.

Oh em gee! I love me some chunky Lil babies. Your son is so beautiful. My daughter was such a meatball when she was a baby. But once she started walking, she turned into my string bean. As far as the meal; it looks absolutely delicious. My family doesn't eat pork, but I can't wait until the weather starts to cool down so I can try this recipe with chicken.

I just finished eating my first plate of this lovely stew. placed on a bed of rice, with a little yogart to cool down (as I used all jalapenos) with a very nice homemade flour tortilla. You have just such a lovely demeanor and way about you. Thank you so much for taking such care and making such easy to follow and interesting videos!

If you incorporated the diced garlic to the mix when blending, why would you need additional Garlic Powder as a dry ingredient? Seems like a lot of redundant garlic! Has anyone tried this with just fresh Garlic and Omitted the dried Garlic Powder, and if so how many cloves did you use per the recipie? Thank You in advance!

I guess my Japanese mom learned to make green chili from a New Mexico friend/relative, I grew up with the chunky variety without potatoes. We always had home fries as a side as well as pinto beans. Watching your video makes me want to run out and get some Hatch green chili. Thanks for the video, it looks delicious.

Yum! It's looking so delicious! Thank you for sharing your recipe. I love your lil one, cute. It's always neat when my kids were little and wanted to help me too. It's a marvelous thing, them lil ones. My baby girl just went off to college, I'm having an emotional time but it's all going to be what's best for her.

Say what omg this looks so. I'll be making beef version for my hubby. For me the not so red meat eater I'll sub for chicken or even make it vegan with more vegies and vegetable broth. It's still to hot have this in California right now but defiantly making when gets a little colder in October. This look so good
