This is my version of Mexican picadillo. You can add any veggies you like, but here is an easy delicious way to make it. This recipe is also makes a great filling for Chile Rellenos. INGREDIENTS: 1 lb lean ground beef, 1 potato, half of a medium size onion, 1 zucchini, 2 cloves minced garlic, 1 can of corn, 1 chicken or beef flavored bullion cube, 1/2 tsp ground cumin, 1/2 to 1 cup water, pinch of salt and pepper

I smiled when you added oil before adding the meat. My late Dad used to make a ground meat recipe and he always put a little oil in the pan before the ground meat. So some years later, living on my own, I make it and added oil to the pan and I had meat grease and this oil in this pan with my meat. I told my Mom about it and she said your Dad is using Ground Sirloin and you were using Ground beef. The next day they brought me a LBS of Ground Sirloin. This looks good, I will have to try it

I'm thoroughly enjoying your videos, but it would be great if you would plate the end result to show how it's served. For instance, is the hash eaten on or with a tortilla? Corn or flour? Do you serve beans and rice with it, or perhaps mashed potatoes? Your family is fortunate to have such a wonderful cook. Thanks for all the delicious recipes!

Looks delish! My Grandmother use to make a meal with ground beef, I don't remember if there was potatoes but I remember it being kinda saucy, and eaten with a tortilla. It was so good but not sure if that was picadillo or not? Sorry if this doesn't make sense I was so young but always wondered what it was. :)

Thanks for saving dinner! I had no idea what to prepare. I didn't have zucchini but I made this anyway: ) I'm sure the zucchini makes it look much prettier.

Picadillo is NOT Mexican hash! It's meant to be soupy not mushy! Not sure what part of Mexico they make it this way if they even make it at all.
