In my experience, leaving the egg yolk in the egg wash causes the crumb to burn. I just take them out, salt and season the egg whites and whisk them up. You can fry it on ahigher heat without them burning. Frying at a higher heat also allow for it not to absorb too much oil or become soggy. Make sure the egg whites are properly salted and seasoned and whisked or youll get a thick coating of egg white and it will taste like egg white.

Looks doable enough I did his homemade mayonnaise a while back and it was delicious and so easy and I was happy I went with the coconut oil the one that stays in liquid form other wise it ends up being mayo butter still tasty but hardens in the fridge

I like how he does nice soft eggs but on masterchef canada that was a problem for the 3 judges. (yes I understand that they were aiming for them to be hard, but like soft eggs are way better. I wish someone would make me scotch eggs for breakfast

This year I didnt get my scotch egg fix at the renaissance faire. So I followed the recipe for my first attempt and thought it was a good take. Only had a few mistakes to eat. And felt like I didnt horribly fail. Definitely will be making again.

Thankyou Gordon. I am English but live in Chile. I make Scotch eggs amongst other foods little known over here. I like your recipe it is an exciting variation on the more accepted typical recipe. Muchas Gracias desde Pichidangui in Chile.

For someone that has never had Black Pudding, please describe the taste. I was looking at several videos of these and I think Id like to try it with spicy Italian sausage with bits of jalapeno and sharp cheddar.

I wish Gordon stuck to instructional videos like these. Hes a brilliant chef and a great instructor but he lowers himself when he starts swearing and treating others like garbage on TV.

Smack the eggs all over just so the shell is cracked everywhere, then peel it under running cold water. Water gets under the shell, its easier, plus you get the squicky membrane off as well.
