It is the American dream on its original sense. Originally the American dream was something that meant that you could come to the land and make yourself prosperous upon hard work and some intelligence regardless of your background. It was a symbolism of prosperity before xenophobic ideals took over again.

As an Egyptian, I have to commend the creativity of this restaurant. They were able to keep the authentic ingredients and flavors of Egyptian cuisine while imagining new forms of the traditional dishes. Id love to eat there some day. Also, Im pretty sure the letters a in Maha are pronounced like the a in man.

Just went there 2 days ago. The line up was an hour long because the restaurant's capacity is 24 people. We were outside standing in the freezing rain. But if there was one place that deserved a long line this would be it. Do make sure you try Noah's Pudding, Cairo Classic and Honey Cardamom Latte

I loved this post! The food looks amazing and When I am in Toronto, I will bring my Niece to this restaurant for a meal. It is not too far from her home, so I think she will be going there on her own too. I love Middle Eastern food, with it's emhasis on fresh and spice. Thank you for this review.

I have googled Po Boy with Shrimp and Tehina recipe Egyptian style and can't find a darn thing on it. Tried a search on the fried shrimp batter and nothing. I've read on reddit that someone from Egypt has never heard of this dish and now I'm baffled.

Thought this was a repost but didn't read below until now. Can we replace guy fieri in the tv universe with Lucas Peterson please, please, please? The Egyptian-Canadian family at Maha's seems like one of the nicest families in the world.

Having watched a lot of episodes of DID to this day, I think I learned a lot more about different cuisines of different nations with Lucas and the people he interacts with more than any other show. Keep up the good work!

When he was driving to the location the surroundings looked similar to Vancouver so I hoped it would be in Vancouver and not L. A or N. Y like 90% of foodie vids, at least I got one part right. It's in Canada.

I absolutely love this! Tons of Egyptians owning restaurants in the west and almost always cooking some Mediterranean menu that has no Egyptian specialities at all, which is truly a shame
