Kill me if you want but I think that the WiiU port of DE HR DC is the definitive version of this game. Why? Because it has some advantages from the PC port(the hacking minigame actually plays in the touchscreen using touching controls) and includes new things(The use of the map on the touchscreen is one of the best examples, the use of Miiverse for letting other people hints about the level both writed or recorded(Yes, you can record messages for other people, all the in-game UI or at least the majority of it, it's touch-friendly, and managing the inventory with the GamePad is awesome. The sad thing is this port uses more the functionality of the GamePad than the own Nintendo.
Have a great day.

The original Deus Ex is still my most favorite video game of all time. I was -so- disappointed in the sequel, Deus Ex: Invisible War. That was a truly awful game.
I bought Deus Ex Human Revolution back when it first came out and I quit after being unable to get through the first boss fight. I love the stealth, and I always max out my Praxis points on stealth stuff, so I suck at combat. So the boss fight sucked.
I had no idea there was a -Director's Cut, - nor did I know there was a new one released in 2016 (Mankind Divided. After reading the comments here, regarding the Director's Cut edition, I think I'll give it a second chance. I just bought the Director's Cut. I hope it's good.

I played the director's ut version and all the bosses except barret are way too easy
with barret you can actually stealth and hack your way to a room full of turrets to kill him
with the 2nd boss (forgot her name) I had a few points i was saving to upgrade my augmentations but the floor was covered with water and the cabinets contained emp mines (i think they're emp mines anyway) so i upgraded my dermal armour, placed down an emp min and then shot her in the face a bunch of times
Jason was even easier as ever when he turns invisible you can still shoot him provided you know where he is, fortunatley i killed him as soon as he turned invisible so that was that

Seeing all this cyberpunk stuff makes me think of E. Y. E Divine Cybermancy. I heard a lot of people say that it was what Deus Ex: Invisible War -should- have been. I've never played Deus Ex, any of them, mainly because I like playing games in the order they were released when in a series, it's my thing, and what I said in a previous comment about really feeling that the controls are awkward for Deus Ex 1, I don't know, [ for scope and F12 for flashlight are really strange and awkward.

This game is defiantly in my top list somewhere. Under appreciated for sure. I actually bought the next title in the series -mankind divided-, confided it would also be good but It bored me to tears. Much like the tomb raider reboot. Rise of the tr was awesome but shodow of the tr not so much. I also saw a LGR review of thief. Looked pretty good so am currently playing through it now and it's well good. Another under appreciated title.

I keep trying to get into the original, but the controls bug the hell out of me. I mean [ for scope? I feel like I need a third hand to cover the right side of the keyboard while I use the mouse and the left side for movement. I don't know, I'll probably play it through at some point, but the controls will probably be remapped. Also, F12 for the flashlight is just weird, even more so on Steam, as it takes a picture.

This one remains one of my all-time favourite games. I loved the original, replayed it quite recently, but I still find Human Revolution more fun to play. The combat and general mechanics feel so much more refined. The augmentations have more of a purpose as well. Plus the soundtrack is incredible.
I'd love to see the original remade with HR's mechanics and production values.

The fact that Adam dies so easily is why I loved playing this game as a shooter, because when you've played with a mouse and keyboard for multiple decades and most games have controls dumbed down so 8 year old console gamers can still play it. it becomes really hard to find a game that is actually challenging. Luckily that has started to change over the past few years.

Hey Clint, have you watched Game Informer's -Replay- of Deus Ex? They played the game while interviewing one of the creators of the original game and he gave some interesting commentary about the development - for example, how he intended for Deus Ex to basically shame other developers for becoming derivative and doing nothing but plain shooters.

The one thing that kept me from playing this game beyond getting the police station quest at the beginning was the movement. The controls feel clunky, and while I can forgive clunky aiming to an extent, coming from mainly counter-strike, whose movement ranges from good to heavenly, I just couldn't forgive the gameplay enough to get through the story.
