Hey friends! Ryan Alexander Huang here, writer-director-editor of RADIOCHROME.
I’m kept up at night by the usual questions: _What do I want to do with my life Where’s my dream wedding venue How would US and Soviet doctrine have been affected by extraterrestrial interference in the Cold War_
I’ll get back to you on the first two questions, but in the meantime, here’s my answer to the third. RADIOCHROME is a 1980s spies-meet-aliens thriller, plus a dash of analog horror (shoutout to the OGs Gemini Home Entertainment and Local58)
This was intended to be part of a sci-fi anthology with one standalone story per decade from the 1940s to 1990s, all unified by the same alternate Cold War timeline. There’s consequently a good bit of headcanon and easter eggs that are hinted at in this short, and I’m hoping to explore them in the future. Big thanks to the Dust team enjoy!

I understood what the story was about but found it difficult to understand fully what was happening in this film. And difficult to hear the dialogue on the tv they were watching and to hear the actors speak over the tv dialogue.
I liked the way the asian man had a deeper soul than his friend. He questioned the morality of what they were doing, which I think is a good thing in times of war. I dont agree with soldiers following orders blindly, particularly in days such as these when the soldiers in the US army are forgetting that their oath is to the constitution not the president.
Thanks for such a thought provoking film. Good luck with your future projects.

As a very late boomer, 1962, I was indoctrinated into the commie fear cult. I'm still not anywhere near a fan of commies, but I am a democratic socialist. I want what EU got. lol Anyway, I'm also a long time sci-fi fan and reader from HG Wells to Andy Weir. I have read all the greats. That said, I really liked the film, and I do think it could be a thing, if done right. Look at The Expanse, but more invasion than solar system wide mystery. More Invasion of the body snatchers. It looks like it could be a winner if done right. Good luck folks!

Too many basic questions left: when a petrozav is near, the space distorts and you can't even grab your gun The first guy grabbed his gun but still couldn't utilize it for some reason And in the end the Asian petrozav didn't overtake the higher ranking person But outside it chooses to assume the identity of a woman instead of staying in the new body
The question each time is: why.

Hello, can I make a request Can you make a short film with a person holding a grenade that has a screen, and the grenade has been programmed to believe it is a large language model. But the second the dude chatting with the chatbotgrenade talks about going to visit the manufacturer of the chatbot, The grenade explodes.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers does come to mind. .. sort of a retro sci-fi motif (the original body snatchers film was circa 50s vintage, nicely done, acting fit the parts well.

Great story, well acted, loved the moody cinematography (not sure if that's the right word. The shot of the cat. well, proper ick factor for me - excellently done. Thank you

Ryan, I'm a child of the 70's & 80's. You definitely captured that early 80's vibe. I really enjoyed this. Great job, keep them coming.

When you cater for a niche group who think they understand what you're trying to convey, you're narrowing your potential audience.

The acting was okay, the direction not so bad, but the plot was weak, novel but without substance. Much like a Spielberg film.
