Speaking as a woman of white and Cherokee, my family still speaks of things that happened to my family ancestors. My great great grandmother, who was full Cherokee, married a white man. That was an absolute no no back then. It's like KKK members marrying a black woman. My mom has told me most of the things that she can remember and I have passed it on to my children. I was the first woman, since my grandmother, to marry someone outside of my race. I taught my boys of all parts of their heritage. I was very educated of black culture, Cherokee culture, and of course, white culture. We had one of those DNA tests done, just to see how much was what. My oldest son has taken it a little further to try and find out as much as possible. We're still waiting on his research. I never believed that my children should feel like they were just black, because that's how society sees them. I am proud of my ancestors and I believe it's very important for our children to know the good and bad of their backgrounds. It is our responsibility to let them know exactly where they come from.

What about the Irish and the orphan trains of the 19th century those children were white Irish and Italian decent taken from their parents and enslaved in farming communities, oh probably doesn't fit the narrative, fake history sucks.

Thanks for putting this togetherit’s important to confront these realities. But do you think understanding slavery through history actually changes how we see the present or do people tend to separate the two

Me Before Watching: I'm going to guess that this leftist content mill will conveniently ignore centuries of the Moors enslaving Europeans.
Me After Watching: Yep.
