I once saw a guy doing the hammer and startermotor trick, unfortunately the car was in gear and his head was exactly under the front tire. I was prepared to see the most horrific scene ever but luckily the car immediately stalled within a couple of centimeters of his head!

In my case, the starter is working but cranks the engine very slowly when it's cold out. but starts just fine when the engine is warm. (the battery is brand new)
also, I'm hearing metal grinding noise when it starts slowly, what could that be guys?

I like to disconnect the wires first (if possible. That prevents a lot of grief when having to deal with rusty and corroded terminals that don't want to loosen.
Vaseline can be used to smear on the terminals (goes for your battery too.

I don't know how I got so lucky, that Chris has used the same truck, that I have, to demonstrate everything. So many other, help videos, are anything but. They don't explain anything nearly this clearly.

0: 16 when you found your starter to be dead, all I could think of is that one line Bill says from the first episode of King Of the Hill. You know what it could be? That damned starter motor.

you don't always need to replace the Starter, last time my car didn't start, I opened the starter and changed the starter carbon brush and it fixed my issue.

Have been reading the starter on the Mazda MX-5 NC (3rd gen) is super tough. When mine died I didn't have any idea so the dealership took care of it.

I really like your videos. You always give good step by step instructions. And thanks for not cursing in the videos just like John said below. Lol.
