Hi! So if my brake pedal isnt hard it has to do with whats in the brake line and not the wear and tear of the pads? Im about to change the pads and rotors/bleed the car but am just interested in knowing which step will make me not have to push to the floor to brake

I bled my '97 Civic EX and my passenger rear drum brake valve snapped off because it was so rusty. I'm definitely taking out ALL the braking assembly including the calipers, drum brakes, disc brakes, and etc. Can't wait for the results to look like.

My cars brakes are firm and normal until I turn the car on, therefore should my car be turned on when I do this bleed? When the car is on they are very very spongey to the floor, when car is off they feel normal?

Why do you need to keep opening and closing the brake line with the two person method? Couldn't you just have the second person continue to press the brake over and over and the first person watch the line until it runs clear?

2: 44 Chris: brake fluid is very caustic. Itll eat through paint, itll cause corrosion on metal. You really dont want brake fluid touching anything.

Should we bleed (press the brake pedal )with:
1- Engine On.
2- Engine off, but switch on.
3- Engine and Switch both off?

so what's the point of fighting the bleeder valve with the 2 person method, when you dont have to do it with the 1 person method?

do you have to take off the tires? or can you lay down and find the valve from behind the tire without removing the tire?

Do you need to reflush once you've installed the new caliper? Also is it true you need to change both caliper at the sametime?
