AB EXERCISE & AB WORKOUT - Intense Anti Gravity Ab Exercises

Too often when it comes to choosing ab exercises to do in your ab workout, guys rely on the old standbys like crunches or the new favorite, planks. The problem with that is that when you choose just one or the other ab exercise variations you're limiting the potential results you can see in your abs. This is because in order to create a true six pack you need to focus on letting the abdominal muscles do what it is they are functionally meant to do and that is. - Flex the spine - Eccentrically control spinal extension - Produce trunk rotation - Eccentrically control trunk rotation Seems like a lot of stuff for the abs to do in one exercise I know. but not really. Not when you can combine them using the anti-gravity approach that I show you in this video. Don't worry, you don't need a fancy cable machine to do this cool new ab exercise. You can do it with just a few resistance bands draped over your pullup bar. The key to this new ab exercise is to do it correctly with good form. Watch all of the components in this ab circuit and perform it the next time you're at a loss at what to do for your ab workout. Just be sure to let me know what you think? After you've tried this and you're ready

Glad you are back, and thank you for your videos. As to crunches, I disagree. While crunches may benefit your core, they cause trouble with your lower back, and done often enough, bulging disks may occur.
I asked why, after doing various crunches 1-2 X a week, I had lower back issues, including lower back spasms, which are extremely painful. Stuart McGill had a program in Dallas talking about the issues and I understood the role of the spine in fitness training. Do not do crunches! Planks

Hmm I'm not so certain on the comment below not to do crunches. The core benefits from being worked in a variety of ways - the plank is limiting. I have a weak lower back so I am careful with what types of ab exercises I choose to make sure the back is always comfortable & technique is crucial. For instance swiss ball crunches are good and lying on your back with your hands holding something behind u, u can do a variety of leg lifts, knee tucks and a million more things beyond the plank.

If I may, I have used this man's name a few times during my responses. I would stay as far away from the swiss ball crunch, especially if you have back issues. Instead, do a McGill crunch. It's much better on your back and spine, and it is a very intense exercise.
But I disagree about the plank; it uses more muscles than crunches; the Athlean X program offers many and various core exercises. I just used the plank as a better example of a core exercise. Good luck in your training.

Excellent vid & kudos for hitting it hard soon after surgery. I said 'goodbye' to my L5S1 herniated disc about 1 1/2 years ago. The sciatic nerve was badly bruised and part of my right leg was paralyzed for months. I still can't feel small sections of the calf and foot, but through diligent work and much stair climbing I have just about 100% of the strength back. Any chance of a video on strengthening the low back after surgery, and/or strengthening limbs with nerve damage? Thank you! :-)

Hi my name is Dale and I am a martial artist. I need to make my lower back stronger to make my back kicks more powerful. I was wondering if you might show us an exercise for that particular area, since you are the only person I follow as far as exercise is concerned. You are such a wonderful resource to go to for gaining muscle; it's only through you that I have been able to continuously perform well, so thank you so much!

Hey Jeff, when i do hanging leg lifts, where you hang from a pull up bar and lift ur legs, if I do to many sets or try to go to failure my lower abs start to CRAMP BAD! It's not normal abb pain it IS a cramp. I know normal abb pain and this is a CRAMP. any way that I can continue to go to failure? or do I have to face the facts?

I've had my appendix taken out aswell and the cut/scar is lower than the waistline of my pants. So unless Jeff decides to do a workout without pants on you wont see it. Also ups to Jeff for getting back into training and being so determined. I could hardly walk after my operation and laughing was the bane of my existence: (

-I agree. I also have a lower back problem, before, i can only do 10 crunches and my lower back hurts like hell. After i placed a pillow on my lower back, i can now do 30 crunches. It really helps a lot on lower back problems!

Had a look at the McGill crunch - will give it my proper attention in tomorrows workout. Had thought you were suggesting plank would be enough. got you now. All the best with your training too. Becky
