Honestly tho, the 5080 at 1000 msrp is incrediblely difficult to get and AIBs arent willing to sell the MSRP cards because the margins are so low. It reasonably starts at 1200. I still see a few 4080s hanging around at the 1k msrp and its a better buy. Basically, its the same situation as the 5090. 10% more money for 10% more performance. Extremely disappointing.

Who says the 5080 should beat the 4090. If bought a 4090 I would be happy. And it pretty clear they will come out with card in the middle of 5080 and 5090 they have tons of room. People wouldn't pay 1200 and Nvidia learned, here you go, winey gamers, faster performance for the same money, and people still are not happy.

No wonder Nvidia pushed dubious MFG feature so hard, the skepticism was warranted.
The RTX 4080 was a failed card that had to be cut in price, the 4080 Super is the right comparison.

I was considering buying a 5080, but after all the reviews I've seen the bang for the buck isn't there. I'll wait until the 5080 Super comes out, or maybe wait for the 6080.

I wish NVIDIA would release a 5080 Ti.
That would be my ideal card.
But I suspect that will once again not happen, like with RTX 4000, to upsell people to the 5090.

Who would have known that 7900XTX will be the most future proof GPU of all time. 4 years and nearest competitor is 10% max faster for the same price. Insane.

I think its a solid card for 1000. I buy the 90 class but its still a nice option for those who dont wanna spend the most but still a nice gaming experience.

These cards end up being a great advertisement for Radeon 7000 series for anyone who cares about value. Especially factoring in AIB pricing.

I already know before the launch, 5080 is just a 5070 rename, with half of everything of 5090 spec, Nvidia Unlaunch the real 5080 again.

Didn't learn a thing other than the different color! The lack of comparison to the 3000 series made this feel very incomplete.

Adam says, 5080 is a more future proof card than a 4090
How does PC world allow him to say such a silly statement
