Jeez, can't hear this repeatable blabbling how old and crap jaguar was, and oh my how consoles are holding PCs back, and how open world games struggle on current gen. I guess you guys in your holy loyalty to PCs haven't probably seen games like Horizon Zero Dawn, Spiderman, Infamous, or even PS4 launch title Killzone Shadow Fall.
The truth is that console exclusives are way more optimized than any PC game has ever been, and this shows you how great games can be on something you've been told must be a crap because it won't make a decent PC.
I am telling you, PS5 with this fresh new tech inside, even if priced at 500$, will allow devs like Naughty Dog or Guerilla Games create things you won't be seeing on PCs under 2000$. It's all about optimization, and don't forget consoles are made for games, not to run massive and sluggish PC operating systems, which originally weren't event meant for games, with gazillions of drivers that need to be updated on regular basis
And I've been a PC and console games since year 2000.

I thought the loud PC went out the window when we got rid of those 80mm fans and engineers made better 120mm fans. also 140mm have better performance at a lower sound profile keep in mind you eventually do get to a state of diminishing returns, where the fans are pushing air 2 fast to pull heat of the heat sink efficiently which really means all your getting is loud noise with no real improvement especially depending on the overall dimensions of internal versus external space where all you are really doing is increasing ambient temp in the overall room losing efficiency.

MS is already making people rely on fast internet, it seems like every other time or every third time i turn on my Xbox One X to play Forza 7 there is always some 60GB or 72GB or some ridiculous size -update-? Consoles need to refocus on what they used to be, you plug it in, turn it on and your good to go, no 2 day installs, 250GB updates, and just plain annoying BS just to play a game, if we want that we will just buy the game on the PC and get better graphics, clearer sound, and smoother frames

Sony will benefit from the hardware development on the PC market, again. And again they will get the hardware dirt cheap. Sad story. The margin for AMD will not be great, I guess. There will be choruses of praise on Sony on the one hand and PC bashing on the other hand, we had it all before. Furthermore I suppose that they will subsidise their console. A little weird for a so called free market. On the bottom line it will cause further damage to the PC market.

Its weird seeing brad say playstation is holding PC back. There plenty of PC only games. PLENTY of them and no one has made these futuristic games. PC is is holding itself back because you cant make games that run on 2080tis only and expect to sell. Just like in 2020 all of sudden 8 core 16 systems won't be normal. People keeps PC for a long time. PC gaming is laptop gaming for the majority. That's what's holding gaming back for PC specifically.

If AMD uses StoreMI for caching a 4 TB drive with a 256/512 GB NVMe SSD, that would actually make things really good. I would no be surprised if this is the case.
I remember that both PS and Xbox came with several storage options at different prices and bundles. That would indicate that you could get a PS 5 -Basic- with just a 512 GB SATA3 SSD, and also some -Advanced- and -Premium- versions with NVMe instead of SATA + HDD.

If these so called PC Elitist would hear themselves sometimes they would slap themselves. he says console people are all ok with just 30fps. yet he said before he's ok with Ray Tracying and anything that makes his PC sweat even if in pulls down his frame rate? If you're going to attempt to make back handed jokes, at least don't contradict yourself and be mature about it. Because there are people out here who do know better.

no one is against ray tracing, it's just that at 1 sample per pixel you are not going to get anywhere. exodus lighting system is another problem, pretty in some place bbut there's not enough rays cast. 2 sample per pixel and a denoiser is going to feel like a massive step up, that said we would need to see gpu's increase performance in 100% for that to happen, so minimum 5 years tll then.

Also, the One X has somehow managed to have native 4k60 games a couple of times now with FH4, DMC5 etc, if the PS5 can't regularly do 4k30 native with higher detail than consoles have now consistently for most games with Zen 2 and Navi then that would kind of be a failure really. At the same time though, i'd like to see them aim for much larger and much prettier open worlds at 1080p60.

Following on the x86/x64 point, I wouldn't think the hardware would be interchangeable however they could allow root kits to be sold to turn a console into a different os or update, like a Windows oriented Xbox or a media center PlayStation, however awesome a -2400g- upgrade on a -2200g- would be: )
Great show btw glad to add input
