Sorry I've not been able to join any streams for a while, been super busy with work, schedules not lining up and also have guests... But glad you guys are putting these out as I listen to them at work.
Regarding VRAM: There are a couple of memory technologies that are coming but it seems they're just not ready for this generation of cards. GDDR6W doubles the capacity of each module, so your 6 chips can be 4 GiB instead of 2 GiB. This is also supposed to operate at higher speeds than GDDR6X...
IIRC, GDDR7 also doubles the capacity, too.
This doesn't help with the lower bus width but, in theory, that's what the L2 on Nvidia and L3 on AMD's sides are supposed to do.
Regarding ownership and GeForce Now!: I just can't advise people to use this service - you're just giving Nvidia a reason not to increase VRAM capacity and performance on their mid- and low-end parts. A viscous circle that ends up with the user/ consumer losing out.

My old EVGA RTX 2080 Ti XC Ultra 11GB from 2020, along with my old i9-10900k, on my 2021 Samsung 32 Odyssey G7 240Hz QHD 2560x1440 Gsync monitor is all I need to play COD Warzone so I see no compelling reason to upgrade anytime soon. I have zero interest in 4K and nobody that I know has any aspirations to move to 4k either. My son has a Ryzen 7 5800x that s lightning fast but I m less impressed by his 1700 Gigabyte RTX 4090 Gaming OC 24GB. His old 490 MSI RTX 3060 Ti Gaming X Trio 8GB from MC seemed to be a better value, and yet my 2080 Ti was still slightly superior, perhaps because of the 11GB VRAM. Anyway, my FPS is good enough that I can skip the upgrade hype for a bit.

nvidia is largely responsible for changeing the stack and making a 4060 600 pounds uk. plse people plse dont invest in gforce now. go to game pass ultimate and enjoy their cloud gameing with games included. dont treat nvidia to your cloud gameing money when they want you to pay extortionate pricing for even worste hardware, 196bit bus on a 2070ti makes it in my opinion a 4060 and they wanted you to believe it was 4080 12 GIG. EVEN NOW PEOPLE ARE SAYING 600 POUNDS FOR A 4070, BUT ITS NOT A 4070, AS ITS ON PAR WITH LAST GEN 3080 AND SHOULD BE AROUND 20 PERCENT FASTER. Raising prices and lowering performance and useing mors law is dead to justify it sucks.

Bus width advice follows:
384 minimum for 4k
256 minimum for 1440p
192 minimum for 1080p
128 = waste of money, do not buy
VRAM - 8gb minimum for 1080p, anything else 12gb+
Example: 6700xt 192 high frequency is a good card - not as good as 3070 at 256 - I consider both cards 1080p max - 3070 is limited by VRAM
Follow the above - Ignore FPS benchmarks
NOTE: I have no brand loyalty. I don't chase rays. I don't use DLSS

The only time the 12 cores make sense is when they are matched against the regular chips.. Like the 5900X was a hell of a fast chip.. The 7900X is fast as hell too.. The 7900X3D didn't make sense.. They should have just skipped that chip.. AMD should have just make the 7800X3D and the 7950X3D and called it a day.. Zen 5 will be out next year I am hearing and it will be like a Zen 3 moment where it jumps like 2 Gens.. From what everyone is saying..

I think everyone is going to still use Gen 3 M.2's for storage, And a lot of people are going to stick with Gen 4 M.2's because they are at like 7000 read and write speeds that is fast that can be perceived. Unless you have enormous info you are trying to move around which I can't see a gamer needing more than Gen 3 speeds.. I guess Gen5 M.2's/storage would be good for like server's.

if nvidia where honest and said the 4060 is 600 hundred pounds or the 4070 is 1200 pounds , thats hiw i think the 16 gig 4080 really is. then id be pissed but i may have considered buying a 4080 16 gig but no instead raise pricing so high and then move the stack too. thats slimy and greedy.

The 6950XT gets real close to the 4080 in certain Raster games.. People just bought 6800XT's 6900xt's and 3080's n 308012Gigs and 3090TI's.. And I think that's why people aren't spending right now.. Some People Paid 1500 for a GPU already from last Gen..

No it will age like milk on a hot day ;) It's been this way for years with Nvidia GPUs, but now people start to care because prices are ridiculous.

The 308012Gig is faster than the 4070 in Raster and that's why people will stick with them.. Shite, The 3080 10Gig is still a little faster than the 4070..

But the 4070 is slower than the 6800XT and the 308010Gig even.. In most games the 6800XT is beating the 4070 by 15%/20% in straight Raster gaming..

If loading times is very important, don't forget that CPU perf can impact loading times just as much. Plus a faster CPU also gets you other benefits.
