Alta d1 , disappointed about the price. I could go has high as 5 for an all metal case, maybe (have to compare to w100), with this kind of expandability and flexibility, and no glass. A grand is asking a lot. If there is anyway they could come up with a version. that wasn't a grand (like build yourself option) , i think there are a ton of people that would reach for a case like this. Many people don't want glass and plastic, more of a case from 15 years ago, but updated. A grand though is going to be hard, but i do keep thinking about that case ever since you showed it. it's exactly what i've been looking for. I keep my case forever the last one is the half x advanced and Thermaltake w100 i use in another build both are very solid cases, i make servers. I'd probably just go for the w100 over this since that's only about 300-400, and seems as good to me. I 'd really love tt understand why this is so expensive. My experience with the w100 is that it's pretty perfect in a lot of ways. Very heavy huge, expandable (you can get another module for the top or bottom) and supports everything. W100 is my favorite. So glad i bought it. You should give that more attention. Do a video on it, it would benefit people to know more about that one. it's really fun to build.

I have a gripe about GN's limited test methodology. 1) They don't benchmark cases with AIO's, even thou they are very popular in the gaming community now. Why are they still only testing for air cooling in 2024, especially with power hungry monsters like Intel's 13th and 14th gen... When you use an AIO, the CPU temps are no longer a serious consideration, so the GPU temps become priority. We need some test data that shows how GPU temps are affected in a particular pc case, if an AIO is installed in a standard position (e.g. top or front). 2) Some cases have bottom fan mounts to further cool the GPU (like all the Lancool cases from the past years, and the upcoming Lancool 207) but GN NEVER EVER tests the cases with bottom mounted fans to see how much they improve the GPU thermals, if at all. That would be very valuable data for those of us who want to liquid cool the CPU and air cool the GPU, and are willing to throw in an extra fan or two under the GPU if it will help the thermals.
Picking a case to use with a CPU AIO and air cooled GPU is extremely difficult at this time because GN only tests cases for air cooling, even though AIOs are so popular. There's just no performance data for that situation.

Cases getting cheaper you say but shipping getting costlier. Here is your winning ticket; make a case that can be assemble by a customer but it has to be functional, sturdy and not shaky. By removing empty volume from cases upon shipping, you start your competition 3-0 ahead since shipping cost more than the case itself. I have Cooler Master HAF XB case, you can literally sit on that and nothing would happen. No shaky shakes, no vibration, strong earthquake can't make it move; that is the sturdiness I am looking for.
I think be quiets Light Base is a winner design here, if it's spacious as much as Lian Li EVO XL, because I can easily stack 8-10 HDD inside the EVO XL's front. That is the only reason why I want to change my HAF XB because I ran out of 3.5 HDD slots which I was already extended 2 to 4 by using two 5.25 to 3.5 bay adapter.

Honestly I miss being able to put multi card readers and Blu-drives into cases. My current case a Coolermaster Stryker allowed me to add both a Blu-ray drive and multi-card reader and a small tray I use for loose usb sticks. And yes it can just fit my 3090 but nothing in the 40 series. Not everyone has access to a Broadban even though here in the USA, we've been paying a Rural Broadban tax since the early 2000s (), and yes, I do back up stuff to CDs and DVDs. Maybe Steve and crew can ask the FCC when Americans will see that rural Broadband tax spent on providing high-speed internet to rural America.

Anyone who is still buying desktop PC in 2024 (unless it's a very extreme high-work load) is an idiot for me. I still use my MSI Katana with RTX3050. 4GB graphic cawrd and play Battlefield 2042 Full HD - low easily.
And I use 11th i7-11800h for music production with my 32GB ram and 2TB 970 evo plus m2 ssd. No problems.
And when something goes off wrong (which it did mine) , MSI warranty changed the motherboard which is basically %90 of the laptop.
I remember thinking desktop PCs won't be needed in 2010 when I build my first desktop workhorse. I was right.

Hey Steve and the Nexus Team. Im wondering if you could do some Old vs. New cases comparison between well... new cases and cases from like ten years ago, when we had interesting designs like the NZXT Phantom series or simply cases that were absolute Behemoths like the 820 (which you had reviewed back then as well).
It would be really interesting to see how they hold up today and maybe find out how future proof cases really are.

I feel like the case market has shifted focus too much to maximum cooling. I know 3.5 and 5.25 are a slim market but I feel like they're still easily accommodated in these large cases without being too detrimental to cooling.
If you want a disc drive and a couple HDDs your options are shockingly limited.
Was nice to see Thermaltake providing for that market, even if it was to the Xtreme

I bought the Fractal Design North not because it had wood but because it looked good. The wood is well integrated into the design and it works as a general concept. Simply including wood somewhere on your case doesn't make it look good. Seeing most of the new wood cases, it is just blind trend following. Really makes me appreciate manufacturers with original and well thought out designs.

I feel as though Fractal is the most original designer (at least in terms of successful execution). Every other company seems to copy their cues. I'm also bored with the fishbowl case style at this point; every case manufacturer has their own version, but they all look the same.
Anyways, there are some good looking cases here. Looking forward to performance reviews.

building my friend a pc and he didnt want a big case like i used so the g400a is what im looking forward to the most, hoping to see good results if you test it. Also the fans they are doing look amazing. hopefully fits a 4080 super in it with enough airflow and width for the cable, may have to do a gigabyte card with the indented cable if its not wide enough

honestly, 90% of fishtank cases all look the same. Differences must be minor and popularity tied to the brand.
I think i'd be interested in the 9000D and play with the idea of having a dedicated Streaming setup with 2 systems in that 1 case. I looked like that display unit had that in mind since it had an elgato capture card inside

I feel like I'm the only one that hates the look of these weird cases with the angled glass on the front and fans offset on the back side of the case.
I just want a box with fans on the front, and exhaust on the back, and room to mount a rad on the top.
I'll stick with my Corsair C70 until it rusts apart at this rate.

Sadly still nothing that would make me replacing my Thermaltake Core X5 Case where it was possible to change all directions to mesh - without any glass/plexi panels (not produced anymore and no replacement / new version) . Why nobody does offers good functional cube cases I don't want to go back to this normal style cases.

just my two cents about a company I had a good experience with : NZXT
I broke my glass panel and they just replaced it, didn't care about checking warranty or anything. Took some time because of stock issues, but got it for free with UPS shipping. Just above my expectations. Definitely sticking with them next time.

Cool he didn't covered my recently purchased case, as it doesn't gonna be mainstream. It's an awesome low key elegant compact mATX case. Fishtank style dual glass combined with a gorgeous pearl black matte paint, supporting 360 aio, plus reverse intake fans included and full filter meshed but invisible from outside.

Great stuff guys. The most interesting part of the video to me was at the very beginning. One manufacturer states it is getting hard to compete If you want to compete lower your prices. Lian LI and the rest has shown it is possible to make a good product at a fair price.

I cant help thinking that the case should be used as a thermal block , so it can be used as a heatsink ,have a heatsink that connects the Cpu to the case ,the Cpu would provide enough heat to enable enough thermal draft for the motherboard components to keep cool

Have you considered doing reviews of workstation/NAS/tower server cases With at least 8 drive bays, in the review looking at air flow while fully populated, ease of access to drives, and comparing the compactness/massiveness of the overall case.

I’m not super intelligent when it comes to building PCs. So these kinds of videos are super helpful, especially seeing as I have a massive heating issue with my current case and am in the market for a newer fan specific cooling case. Thank you GN!

Has there been a successful Mac Pro (2019) case clone for standard ATX components Still sad about that Dune Pro crowdfunding company failure, would prefer that over almost anything seen at Computex except some SilverStone and Be Quiet cases.
