Sponsor: Thermaltake Tower 300 mATX Case on Amazon https://geni.us/WNABU4 Our last product video from Computex is at In Win, where we wanted to revisit the creative design center to see unreleased case designs, a new Infinite Signature series case, modular Lynx fans, and more. The main focus was on unreleased products, particularly the Silencer case with a foam panel for sound absorption. We also featured some of In Win's designers and product managers in discussions to learn more about the process.

Thermaltake as the sponsor for an In Win tour That's odd.
That foam block at the rear of that silencer case is a pretty novel idea. I could imagine something like that being a product.
That H frame variant with the colorful drive bays is neat. A few years ago it'd have been been video editing chassis with the ease of access to drive bays and swapping them. The rapid move to M.2 storage has shifted the desire for such hot swap bays inside that niche (and while U.2 exists, it hasn't taken off for video segment). Still it has a nice look.
Using USB-C for the Lynx fan connections permits it to piggyback off of the USB-PD spec to dictate voltage and can provide a single cable for both power and control. That'd provide a means to go from 5V stock USB up to 24V. It just depends on the microcontroller that presumably comes built-in with the fans. The big downside is that each fan would be seen as a USB hub to be able to do daisy chaining.

ive had my in win 303 case since 2015, have done a bunch of upgrades since my original cyberpowerpc prebuilt, and i have NO plans to change cases in the forseeable future. i love my in-win!
I only have one complaint, being that even though the case is rated for ATX size boards, if you want to put fans on the bottom for intake, there isn't QUITE enough room for the headers on the bottom of the board. this unfortunately caused me to damage some of my headers slightly on my first pc building experience. With that being said, i love the look of the case, and i love the fact that the power supply is in the top of the case instead of at the bottom, with the fan facing the desk!

1 for silence. Ive drew up plans for a 2x 560 radiator cooled PC that was basically all enclosed, including PSU , with both intake & exhaust baffled & sound proofed. Then i realised i would end up spending many thousands, when i have 'practically' silent pc (fractal define) with 3x ax12s at front , dialed in to max air just below audible in dead of night. Air in front, Air only out GPU vent, 140mm exhaust, and PSU (1000w on hybrid mode and fan never comes on). With tons of positive pressure, unintended side effect - after year of use in dusty carpet and dog house. Inside is crystal clean.

That reclining prototype case at the end was insanely beautiful. I would buy that thing in a heartbeat, the only problem is the foot is so large I don't even know where I would be able to put it. I'd love it if that case came with a smaller base and no reclining feature. I don't really need my pc to move around and if getting rid of that feature allowed for a smaller footprint base I would go for it even at a crazy premium price point.

it hurts me to thing they could successfully patent a connector its not a unique idea, it seems a connector that would reduce cable clutter in a case would fall under the non-obvious clause for patentability, its an obvious solution to the problem of cable clutter that multiple companies were working on simultaneously and it just so happens 1 company patents and releases first

Really appreciate yours and the whole teams effort over the course of Computex and what a finisher. I love everything about what In Win is doing, new ideas & concepts and I really feel they're underrated in this industry or at the very least under considered. Totally not giving me ideas to mod my own case with some overly complex auto opening ventilation system

The silencer foam concept is actually more interesting as an accessory to any PC, if it can actually silence a computer, why not just put it on a desk or wall next to the computer case and absorb some noise I am sure someone can put RGB on it and sell it, but could GN test putting foam behind a PC case to see if it improves sound from the gamers position

Love InWin, I got my Alice case for a steep discount and the plastic construction and included cloth panels spotted pattern made me name it Milk Crate. The airflow is really simple, intake on the bottom, exhaust at the top. And since I know sewing, I was thinking of making a new fabric cover for it. Maybe put a waifu on it like you said 5 years ago.

I know it wouldn't sell well because people love their aquariums, but I reeeeeaaaalllly want that lanboy style case with the moving vents on the top. I have been trying to find a Cooler Master MAF or an Antec lanboy for about a year but people want a small fortune for their beat-up, scratched and/or dented case.

def like the shift to wood in pc cases. def would love if case makers pivot back to having foam back in to make it quiet again. just prefer to have pcs to be not so obnoxious with all the rgb and glass, but quiet, classy and able to better blend into a regular office space.

Props to Justin, fluent in two languages and a PC designer. I know just how hard it is to flip between two languages and explain technical concepts. One day he will be designing some mad PCs and hopefully ones not just in black and red! Where's my green love

Blocking the openings for the escaping hot air sounds like a _really_ great idea. /s
I suspect an actual engineer looked at the concept idea and uttered a few, choice words. Physics, people. Physics is what makes the world go around.

The silencer case is super interesting. It's the kind of idea you get in your head while taking a shower some day and wonder why nobody does it.
They're living the shower idea life out there and don't sell it to anybody.

Alienware made a computer with a top louvered airflow 10 years ago. I owned one and I liked it as the louvers would open and close depending on heat. Never had a problem with the air flow or heat issues running 2 GPU's.

InWin makes great cases but for stuff like this, they admitted that costs are too high to produce so they don't come to market, so why do they even bother Most of the cases are cool looking but completely impractical.
reply

I wonder if that case would be more likely to come to market if it was a manual way to open it instead of having an automated opening. I'm sure it would still be expensive, but maybe more viable to bring to market.
reply

Awww.... some of those things look really cool. I presume that producing it would cost too much and there would not be enough customers to warrant it. These guys definitely won a place in my heart. Love it.

Every single music producer (myself included) saw that Silencer case and is now throwing money and credit cards at their monitor begging to purchase it.
This would be a godsend for studio PCs. MAKE THIS THING!!!

reply

God, I'd love to work at some place that lets you come up with highly experimental designs.
I have a few rough PC case concepts that I'd love to see realized but will likely never get a chance to make.

Steve switching to chinese in that interview was so cool and i loved the reaction of the guy being like nice i can talk to him. Also kudos to the other guy who was translating just rolling with it.
