I bought an Arc a750 a couple of months ago at Micro Center for 200, along with a 5600X3D/RAM/mobo combo for around 300. Case and PSU (already had storage covered), and I had a pretty damn decent 1080/1440p rig for around 720, after taxes. It has served me well these past couple of months, though I admit, the a750's driver woes are just...weird. It doesn't interact well with my old ass 1440p monitor from 2016. A couple of older games I play refuse to work at borderless windowed/fullscreen mode, and can take the whole system out if I forget that detail (though this may be an extension of the a750 not liking the monitor). Other games, like FFXIV, still have definite bottlenecking issues in CPU-intensive settings. I recently managed to get my hands on a 6700 XT for 240 shipped to my door, and I look forward to when it gets here, to see exactly how their fare head to head.
Gotta admit, though, the AV1 encoding is really, REALLY nice. It doesn't seem _quite_ as sharp as h.264, but I'll take a tiny hit to sharpness for less than half the file size of an h.264 render. So, for that alone, I may still keep the a750, even if I decide to go with the 6700 XT for strictly gaming. Edit: And I have to say, all things aside, the Intel limited edition of the card looks absolutely GORGEOUS in a case. So, there is that.

INTEL Drivers Launch but as it has been it is at the next driver update maybe two weeks. Other point with INTEL is you really can't compare 100FPS to 100FPS as it is not the same. Hence the pairing tool from INTEL. INTEL is meant to be paired/split tasks with CPU while the competition does not have a big impact if you have a weak CPU when most of the tasks are in the GPU. This means there are queuing and delays that equal stutter and more FPS is needed for the same performance. This is why on the charts so many of the competition is ahead but in reality are behind and can't do the higher resolution while INTEL can. But poorly optimized INTEL is bad. And there is the APO that the card is lacking and that is only available on high end 14th gen CPU's even that 12th and 13th could have it and 13th is the same die. 10-50% performance here lost if INTEL doesn't give the APO to the previous CPU's that are still sold and use the same socket. This is a big fail for the INTEL and unfair for the customers that got their new build in last year. This is in most cases just software update away and BIOS update for the MB. For one if this is INTEL's tactic to force you to buy a new CPU with Battlemage then I think we as consumers should say hard NO!

Wow the 6700 non xt went on sale yesterday on newegg for 229.99 and sold out fast. I guess I will go with the 6700 xt or maybe 6800 been really scratching my head on which one to pick though. My power supply might need a upgrade for either of those since I have the RM550x but I also read it would run them both so maybe not. I just have a 1080p 144hz monitor as well so I am not sure if the 6800 is overkill? I upgraded my r5 2600x last year to a r7 5700x which has been great. I tend to overthink these things so I have been just waiting way too long, I doubt they get any cheaper tomorrow either. I am going to post my build at the bottom if there is anything else that needs attention to upgrade.
PC SPECS: B450M Mortar, Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz C16, Cryorig H7, Ryzen 7 5700x, Corsair RM550x, Rx580 8GB, Nzxt H500

I would love to see a look into the used GPU market during these dire times, and also some comparisons when it comes to running machine learning software, such as Stable Diffusion. Given how popular running SD on own hardware is nowadays I think there should be a dedicated video looking into the performance of all kinds of GPU's, both old and new, with the look into their pricings on both new and used markets.
Me having to wait a minute or two to diffuse a single image on my 1060 is the only thing that's stopping me from engaging in this hobby more. It's the only reason I'm contemplating getting something like a used 3090, as it would not only have plenty of raw power for my gaming needs, but also plenty of power to run Stable Diffusion.

Rx 6800 was the best decision for me, i paid 500 same time last year yes ive seen prices lately boohoo at least i have enjoyed it for the past year, 200w unlike the 7800xt 16gbs of vram and it runs nice and cool, i5 12400 32gb ram and it plays every game smoothly at 1440p i really feel set.
And i cannot even hide my excitement for afmf being supported on my last gen 80 series gpu, amd really showing me the best value i have seen yet.
I still do not understand how little praise it gets it IS the gpu of the year award winner at the 379.99 pricepoint it can be found currently imo, and i would suggest it to anyone building a pc real talk.

Thank you for the appropriate disappointment acknowledgement. When I last build a setup, I went with AMD parts because I had grown so tired of reading about differences between this and that Asslake, Crackhill, and Shitcreek i3-9 telephonenumberK and longdistancecallB naming schemes in CPU's and GPU's. Like finally happy to support competition that doesn't try to piss in your eyes at every turn. To see AMD turning those tricks cheapened it's brand in my eyes, they sunk to their competitors level. I sure hope they turn back from that back alley.

Just upgraded to a 4080 from 3070. Spent 500 Euros (benefits and selling the old card). 4090 was too expensive and would need a new PSU, 4070ti not bad if it had 16GB memory. Disregarding the price, it's such a good card. Running stable at 2820Mhz undervolted, super efficient and silent. I'm pretty happy. And even if new GPUs are planned...just get what you need and what you can afford. Don't worry what's coming tomorrow. Tech is aging, new stuff coming out all the time, prices will go down.

I did buy a 6500XT being the only new gpu with a warranty available in my area for the time, thinking ok at least i can use the computer, it's been ok as most games clock 60 1080p with FSR or/and optimized settings. But as much as i was hoping for massive price drop on the new gen , i will love and cherish my crappy small pile of few sand media molecules a bit longer. Fool of me to think i would be able to buy a 16Gb card for 300 when it all settle down late 23' early 24'.
See you in 2026

I use mostly resolve and I work in the room next to my toddlers bed room.
There is no way I am putting a 4090 in my workstation considering the melting connection troubles... Not taking the risk.. and the 7900xtx is just as fast in resolve now... It will also be AMD top card during the next gen.. and after that I might just put a second card in my rig depending on price/performance compared to 9900xtx or whatever it will he called

This was very good for me. While I have a Sapphire Toxic 6900XT. I am considering something for my HTPC which has a Vega 64 with a AIO on it for cooling. I am considering a 6750XT but nothing of the current crop excites me. If I had to buy a replacement gpu it would be the 7900XTX. But I may wait and see what RDNA 4 brings to the table and at what price. It all works for the games I play and the video transcoding I do on the HTPC.

I'm lucky enough to have a 3080 and a 4090. I've had the 4090 since February this year, and obviously I love it, the thing I'd say about it is, I can't remember when an Nvidia GPU has stayed top of the heap for this long. In previous years, they have usually brought out like a Ti version about 6 months after the initial release, but not this time.

I have only one thing holding me back with AMD 7900XTX and that is it doesnt particular sound like it will run iRacing in VR at completely maxed out settings at a good 80FPs.
For some reason iRacing just is more optimized for Nvidia and has SPS and Reflex Boost support.
Otherwise right now 7900xtx to me would be my favorite option.

Very fascinating to see that after all this time the first-generation Intel Arc cards are actually competitive in the 100-200 price class.
It speaks to Intel dedicating a lot of time and resources supporting Alchemist after its bad launch, as well as it speaks to Nvidia (and AMD to an extent) continuing to abandon the lower price segment.

Having bought in at a bad time for pricing, my R7 1700 and GTX1070 are still struggling along after 6 years.
For the sake of breaking up the upgrade, my 1070 will be getting carried by a 7800X3D in the near future. Hopefully 12 months will mean some positive change in graphics card pricing when it comes time for my next upgrade.

I build my gaming rig in 2017 as a 1440p pc with gtx1080. Hoping that the next pc after 5 years would finally be a 4K pc i couldnt afford back then.
Now it's been almost 7 years, i am making a lot more money, but i am still too broke for a 4K gaming experience. Console would be my only option, but i will always stay a pc gamer

If you're smart you'll wait until Q1 of 2024
Multiple nvidia sources have said that's when the super series will come out and these sources also said the 4080 super will cost 999 because we want to kill the RX 7900 XTX once and for all .
If these leaks are true expext a 200 - 300 price drop on the 4080, 4070 ti and 4070

Got my 6950xt for 580 back in july and I'm glad I did. Runs everything I throw at it at 1440p and in many games at my monitor's refresh rate cap of 170hz. True, it runs pretty warm and ray tracing is a serious hit, but I'm not spoiled (yet) with pc performance so I'm sure this'll last me another 4 years easy

im building a pc for my coworkers son for christmas. just picked up that exact 6650xt for 220, i think its one of the best price to performance cards ive ever seen. i wanted to go intel, but i just didnt want them dealing with the growing pains intel is still having since theyre not tech oriented.

So as i the non expert has been saying for over a year now. A RX6700XT is the best 1440p GPU on the market. The RX 7800XT is the best 4k GPU on the market. Everything else is a wast of money. Unless you are a legitimate streamer who makes a living on your videos. Then the RX7950XTX is your best option.

It seems like even the demanding games are only using the new overhead to cut corners these days, not to actually improve visuals. Everything above 6600 currently feels like a fool's buy to me. I don't need to play Starfield that much, and it's not gonna make MH World or Armored Core look better.
