I install riverstone to the knee wall on my outdoor kitchen and then begin designing the master bedroom addition on my off grid log cabin in the wilderness. Log Cabin Building, Bushcraft, Survival Skills, Cooking, Canadian Wilderness, Off Grid Living, Homesteading Hi, I'm Shawn James. I am a passionate outdoorsman living the life of my dreams in a log cabin that I built by myself in the Canadian wilderness. Join me and my golden retriever, Cali and listen to the sounds of the forest in this relaxing wilderness setting. I prefer to keep my talking to a minimum and let the natural sounds of nature make you feel as though you are there with me. Shawn! I’m still waiting for you to jam on that banjo of yours if y’all still got it! Lol yes I moved last year from Massachusetts to Virginia, it was getting crazy in Massachusetts after 59 years living there! Virginia is Awesome! Where I am is so quiet I can have a open fire in my fire pit if I want without the fire department being called, I can jam on my guitar with out the police being called and I can target practice on my property! Pets to Tally! Be safe.

Hi Sean, Life, with its many interests and challenges, has kept me away from your site for a while. i remember you used to market a fungus, I cnt remember what it's called, which you made a tea from after drying it, which is highly nutritional. I went to your products link, but cannot find it. Do you still sell it Many thanks.

The rock work is gorgeous, super job. I love watching all your vlogs, living off the grid may not be for everyone for different reasons, but it sure works for you guys. I can’t wait to see the master bedroom build, your wife must be very excited. Stay safe and may God our Father bless and keep you and the family.

Was Shawn measuring out when he would need for a new porch 9: 08 I think another addition or wrap around porch would fit nicely. A woman's got to have her wardrobe right I've watched enough of your videos to know you plan ahead for these things. Thanks for taking the time, I bet your garden is producing well too!

Your cabin is truly awesome. The masonary work was a very nice touch and looks greaat. However you need to enclose the crawl area or otherwise you'd be inviting varmits in to nest. I don't think having a skunk under your outdoor kitchen would make that lake trout taste any better. lol

something you might want to do this winter etc. is when butchering your hunts the off cuts freeze them for stew in summer on the bug fire. then it can sit and simmer all day while you work. slap out a loaf or 2 of fresh bread and poof ready made lunch during the day

Thank you, Shawn, for another great video. Cali reminds me of the golden retriever I had growing up. They are fantastic, loyal companions. She was the best dog I ever had. She loved the lake we lived on and would always go with me when I went down to the dock and swam.

I actually was going to give you some advice, but I decided to wait and realized you got this and have plenty of experience and you definitely didn’t need any of my advice. It looks great. You did it perfectly. As always I love your vids!

Shame there aren't more videos. I'd consider damping that flood plain in front of the cabin as its unproductive. Let the stream fill it, and once filled, it can exit via a set level in the dam. More habitat, more water. Beavers do it.

You can't tell me that you don't have some cordless drills around there. Why do you not show the drills you used around that wainscot molding You worked in construction in the past; I know you have them. lol.
I won't tell

A very nostalgic look. Reminds me of my Dad's fishing trips that we took to N. Mn. and the cabins we stayed in. Your. Fish looked oh so good. Nothing better in this world than fishing and eating yor own catch.

The rustic look of your buildings fit with the natural environment. Yet, everything is carefully designed and executed. Quite elegant, actually. I had never seen grout piped on like cake icing.

what a LOT of job, but I like it, that did add something nice to that kitchen-walls, to all the walls actually. Lovely Cali is patient waiting for you to play, she is a very likeable dog, love her.
