So many people are concerned and are hung up on so many things that don't matter, when you truly think about them. Car troubles, politics, relationships and bills! What is the true value of these things or the energy in the worry? How does it affect we humans? And what is the reality of it all? The true reality is where you live and the relationships you have with all around you Shawn. You, your Family and Dear Cali are truly Free, truly Connected to Mother Earth. You need food and shelter and the Joy of being able to maintain all you need in your lives, doing it with your own hands and without a clock or punching in or finding a parking space. Of course not everyone can do or wants to do how you are living. But we can all find the reality of our Mother Earth no matter where we are. It is how we view our connection to all Creation and how all Creation provides us with all we need. So easy to depend on everything but our selves. I Love using wood stoves for heat because I cut and split the wood and am very aware of the weather and how it is different each day. Keeps me in touch with Mother Earth and all other life outside my door. I am very grateful and very grateful for the James Family! Love, Peace, Light and Joy of Spirit! DaveyJO in Pennsylvania

Most of the time when it comes to building I can tell what a person is doing fairly quick. but when I watch these videos I am lost about 80% of the time until well into the project. building technology I don t believe I ve ever seen before case in point. drilling holes in timbers then plugging them and covering those plugs with wax. I don t have a clue what that s about. Or why anyone would go to the trouble to do that. I know there is a reason or you wouldn t have done it.

I'm a carpenter also. It's understandable how this kind of working is so relaxing to the mind. Doing what you love is the key.
And the body feels well used at the end of the day.
We sleep soundly on a regular basis.
You make me proud of my Canadian roots Sean.
And I still have my great grandfathers woodworking tools from the 1800s.
My Papa moved to the US in the 40s.
I've been watching your vids since day one.
Peace to be with you brother.

Greetings Shawn. Watched the first build and can t imagine improving on that. But I m sure you will do so. Looks like you have running water year round at the new location. Have you considered harnessing that power with some form of waterwheel or other new ideas I have seen for generating power. Again, you may not require that much juice. Sure looking forward to the new build.

Do you get your rough cut lumber from a near by sawmill? . I asked this question before and got no answer, some indicated you used a chainsaw mill. but the lumber used for the structure is seemingly perfect square. Typically resulting from a horizontal ban saw mill. hopefully you can inform us on this query.

What do you mean by inoculate the oak logs? Could you explain what you are doing there; I'm guessing you put a bit of mushroom into the hole before you put the plugs in or you boiled mushrooms in the water you washed the plugs with. I'm fascinate by the idea of growing my own Shiitake mushrooms!

I should have read the description first 8 ) For the life of me. I had no idea what it was you were doing with those logs! The shop/bunkhouse is coming along nicely! I think Cali is really going to miss the snow when it's gone. Only about a week until Spring. Take care.

Understand it's how you make part of your income, Shawn, but seriously dislike how many adverts there are now on your videos. I stopped watching TV because of ads, don't want to have to do the same with your shows = truly enjoy sharing your experience.
