winter We finally found winter dog boots for Cali, our Golden Retriever, that stay on and that she doesn't mind wearing in the deep snow and ice to keep her feet from freezing and gathering snow clumps

Shawn, I think you should get another dog because Cali needs more companionship like herself. You have your wife and children and other friends. I know Cali is small but like you said, she's fierce, and I believe I that one day she is going to save your life. Even if you got another dog that is bigger, I still believe she will be the one to come through for you in a crisis. Please keep the dog boots on her and put some dog coats on her during the fiercest weather. God bless!

OMG she is such a good girl about those little boots. I started giggling and laughing it up as soon as you took them out thinking she was going to do that hilarious thing dogs do when you put booties on them but she took it like the little champ that she is. Can't get enough of her. She just wanted to impress us. I'm sure that's it! LOL

The key is to get boots that go higher up on the leg. I have a small breed dog that is very sensitive to the cold on her feet and body because small breed dogs are lower to the ground. However they make snow boots for all sizes of dogs. They cost a little more but the investment pays off when your dog lives in cold climates.

Congratulations for Cali. The walking shoes will preserve well her foot pads. My Golden Retriever, Hope, uses it for climbing rock crags in our volcanoes to the summit. Check often if the shoes are still its place. Very good idea.

You can also get boots and socks from Ruffwear. They have a measuring guide. The Seeing Eye uses them. BTW, my husbands retired guide dog, Tadd, is in love with Cali.

It's so funny how when she doesn't want to do what you say, she looks at the camera as though it's someone who is going to tell her otherwise. HAHA
