November Rain Log Cabin Sauna Ep 7 Canadian Wilderness Off Grid Living Ray: Hi Shawn, I have a great life and if I was religious I would probably say that I am really blessed. It hasn't always been that way and your words in this video really resonated with me. My passion is playing and writing music and being a great Papa to my grandchildren. I admire the work that you put into the cabins that you have made and on a smaller scale I have done a number of building projects over the years so I know how committed you have to be to go out and continue the work day after day even when it might be so much nicer to stay in a nice warm cabin. Your videos have given me so much pleasure and I love the quality of the editing that you do. I want my legacy to be my music and I guess that part of yours will be these amazing videos that you have made and the cabins that you have built. Congratulations on your accomplishments and long may you continue. Peace.

I am far from bored. I stumbled onto your videos one night looking for a way to relax before bed. now I am seeking out ALL of your videos. As I've commented before, I find your videos soothing, instructive, inspiring and thought provoking. Also, you seem to be a bit empathic. thus you picked up on the down feelings of others when you went to town, and logged in etc. I can relate to that. I work as a nurse so you can imagine the emotions and turmoil I encounter in my daily work. Watching your videos takes me into the feelings I have when I am in nature. Your work helps me do my work more effectively. Also in my work I've found that just listening is quite a gift to folks who are struggling. The catch is not to carry all that grief with you once the encounter is over. Not an easy task. Thank you for all that you do.

For your USA viewers, many people get their sole source of information from what used to be called the news but is now the propaganda arm of one political party, which has an agenda to make as many people as possible angry and afraid for their country, and done for the political gain it will bring to that one party. It's messing with people's mental health to be receiving this one-sided negativity on a constant basis. So half the country is happy as clams about the way things are going, which are the ones who take the time to educate themselves to both sides, but half the country is losing their minds.

Quick question (not intended as criticism; just curious. Couldn't you simply spread your log scribe BETWEEN the two logs to get the measurement you need to drop the next row down? Seems like that would be accomplishing the same thing as taking a measurement and walking over to the ruler positioned vertically on your live tree. Just be sure to keep the scribe level when you take the measurement. Or is there a reason for not doing it this way? (Again, I'm just curious as it seems this would work to me)

but you can and do help other people, Shawn, by speaking from that place you know best. .. what makes you happy. when you expand on your personal experience, others understand what you are telling them, we know and have known or have had experiences in our lives that resemble what you are living in. this is a good thing for all of us. what is wholesome and healthy is representative of goodness across all aspects of living.

I completely agree about the general malaise in society. I am in the US and hear/see the same thing. A lot of people seem to redirect these feelings into anger - and we end up with Trump. If they would get off their butts and DO something, instead of constant complaining, they would feel a lot better. Volunteer to help others - that should give you a boost. Mainly, quit focusing on yourselves and look outward.

Almost caught up to all your videos now, they're fantastic. I'm in a good place in my life, too (not least of which is spending time at my partner's log cabin in the Quebec woods, but you're helping me get inspired to take on a task that I've been procrastinating about for too long, so thanks for that! Keep the great videos coming, great to see people who live their dreams.

Hey buddy, love your vids and your work!
Did you ever thing about using the compass as your guide as dividers? Use the sharp end and pencil end by touching the top of the bottom log and the bottom of the top log and you have set your distance for the scribe. Just a thought.

Hello from Munich,
Just a question. How did you keep your Tools so sharp? Maybe you can make a small Video about it?
And you ourn my total respect. In Germany you wont find a place to do what you do. To many laws and rules.
I enjoy your Videos! Thanks

love what Jim Nichols said having a relationship with God, gives you joy in all circumstances even the bad ones, life is short and if we try to fix things for others it does not work only God can fix things in a truly life changing way. Love your thoughts Shawn
