I see this video is 2 years old but I just found it last night. Dude i can not wait to keep watching what you are doing. I'm in my 30s and would love to do this one day. But i have no land. I like how you mostly just keep the sound of nature and your work. You did have some background music there for a little. I'm not a fan of that. I'd rather just listen to the all natural. But to each their own. Anyways I will be binge watching till I catch up to what you are doing today! can't wait to see the final project! Thank you man. Good luck!

I feel inspired by you to do the same but, as anybody, I found out there will be legal stuff that have to be taken care of. I mean: do you own the land and the forest? How was it possible to cut those trees legally and build in the forest? This is the most valuable resource to start with, I mean if I'd own land in a forest, than half of the resources are covered. In my country if you own forest land you must get permission of forest exploitation besides building aprooval, and it's not cheap at all. What is your case in Sweden?

Hej Erik! I am going to start my cabin, either a small timmerstuga or post and beam, this summer, on an island in Maine. The climate is the same as yours, and so is the land. Very rocky It looks like you are felling your trees around the first week of spring. Marc 21st. I could ring and kill them, and leave them standing to dry for a year. but I am almost 70 years old. and I need this cabin soon! But I don't want crakes! what do you suggest? I can't do it now as I am in Arizona for the winter.

my question is. having seen just the first video. did you live in the wilds for the whole year hunting and surviving whilst building the cabin? or did you go home to a normal house & food & just keep going out to make the cabin? also, why does it take a year to make a cabin? surely you'd want to make it quickly to live and survive IN THE CABIN for as long as possible? hey, i know nothing about these things. just inquisitive.

Just watched the (viral) 2 hour version. Congrats on your accomplishments. Ever considered a thru-hike? Might be right up your alley. There are some pretty nice and tough walks around the world.
Anyways, I hope you come up with something to satisfy your urge for adventuring and learning some valuable life skills.
If you ever want info about thru hiking while in your 20s, dont hesitate to reply: )

I was totally blown away at the shear endurance and skill you have shown in your videos. I had my 2 beautiful Granddaughters watching your videos with me to show them that when you put your mind to it you can do things you didn't know was possible. You are an inspiration and I know that your Parents and Family have to be so proud of you. Blessings to you and your bright future young man!

Just an idea
There are quite a few people that would happily spend months helping you with this so you get all of them and make a village and then homeless people can live there and have jobs to help expand it and someday it could be a city

When chopping with an axe
Be careful of limbs above oneself.
One can easily catch the tool on that limb above and cause one to miss the target and perhaps injure oneself.
Look up, trim anything off before swinging down hard.

Good work. I've watched a couple other videos of your, but I decided to watch from the beginning. Very much looking forward to your process, and I lived off the grid for a while so I'm sure I understand the drive.

How does one even begin to accumulate these skills you showcased in your 1. 5 hour long video? Is it something you need to start doing from a child? Did you spend extensive time with your grandparents learning such skills?

Hey Erik,
Is your land a Purchased forest under Swedish Forest Buying law?
If so, how many Acres? For my own interest? And what kind of permits did you have to get a hold of for home-building etc?

Did you use the same type of tree/wood for the entire cabin? I can't exactly tell what trees (spruce) you used.
