Mark, I finished typing but accidentally hit something so I lost everything as I lost the page so now I have to retype because I wanted to record what I think of the food/people of the east coast of peninsular Malaysia. Your video is so meaningful to me since I went on a 7N/8D food trip to the east coast during the 2019 lunar new year period in early February. Food would be sky-high expensive had I gone to Penang instead. I enjoyed the tranquility of my road trip and experienced the hospitality/kindness of the east coast Malays. Besides, I experienced food coma because there was so much delicious food at such incredibly low prices. Food in Terengganu was like 50% cheaper and food in Kelantan was like 60% cheaper than food in Penang or Kuala Lumpur. I ate two servings of almost everything because the food was so affordable, hence the food coma LOL. In Kelantan I ate nasi dagang (which uses reddish rice) and nasi ulam with budu and tempoyak which I find delicious and so clean in smell/taste. The huge nasi ulam place is called Nasi Ulam Cikgu because the owner was a former teacher. It was actually my second experience with tempoyak. In Terengganu I ate lots of nasi dagang (white rice is used here. I like the Terengganu version more because it uses more coconut milk so the nasi dagang is more lemak in Malay) because nasi dagang is my beloved dish. The east coast Malays eat a lot of rice for breakfast. I also ate a lot of good Malay kuihs in Terengganu. Pulut/glutinuous rice is easily available like in Cambodia and I love this type of rice. Ah yes, I ate lots and lots of keropok lekur, some satar and otak-otak too. In Kuantan I had the best and softest beef satay/heart-warming soup tulang/oxtail soup at Uncle Bard's along Jalan Besar, just a few doors away from the much-sought after Classic Hotel. The owner pakcik is such a kindly hospitable man who speaks impeccable English. I ate at his shop for two consecutive nights and his whole family welcomed me. The welcome alone was enough to warm the heart of a weary traveller. Even food in Kuantan costs 40% less than in the aforementioned cities. My only problems when on a food trip are a limited stomach and the tendency to put on.

Ok Let me start by saying that I really love your videos Mark Wiens But you really need to stop hanging around with people like the guy with the glasses I don't know his name Is Guy is a clown There's no need for Him to be laughing like this I know the food is good but really come on if you enjoying food like this there's no need for all this drama and this is why you have so many dislikes. When you doing food all over the world you take serious and enjoy the food like a supposed But do Guy overt does it hes trying too hard but that doesn't help the people who's watching this video's Mark When Anthony Bourdain Left this world I was really hurt And I said to myself we'll never get nobody as good he did But one day I was in YouTube and I saw you I thought you were kind of we're but then again I saw something maybe we got something here. So now I spend everyday looking forward to see your videos. I believe in my heart That you can come very famous NeitherAnthony Bourdain orAdrew Zimmern Or other chefs act like this in their videos. The fact that you have your wife and your child with you I love love that. You go all over my love that For a long time I was in watching TV after Anthony Die I was so hurt I said now who's gonna show us some good food And there you was But you need to take it a little bit more serious. i like your expression at every bites. every time, you explain what you feel on the flavor and never give negative comment on food that you ate. you show respect the origin and the way that the food was made. and you smile a lot: .good job bro.

Hi, I'm from Kelantan. Nasi Dagang actually originated from Kelantan. It's brown rice to be eat with either fish or chicken curry dish not rice cooked with coconut milk. Rice cooked with coconut milk is called nasi lemak. So it's a little bit misleading here.
