200 Songs 2000s Teens in Europe Grew Up With (Part 1: 2000-2004)
video description
It was honestly an incredible time to be a teenager. Music didn’t just appear instantly in your hand, you had to wait for it, kind of chase it (either record it on the radio or have some friend burn you a CD with them, and in doing so, every new release really felt special and that's maybe why I really appreciate most of this and that I'm able to pin point most of this songs to a time/event in my life.
Sure, you could spot patterns or recurring themes that come and go, but nothing ever felt truly predictable in this years. Everything was a little chaotic, a emotional, incredibly original and that's cemented in the very core our generation.
These days it seems people just recycle most trends and keep outputting more of the same. Don't get me wrong as there's plenty of good artist nowadays that I love but it's nothing compared to the variety of the buffet we had in the 2000s.

I suppose my Nordic bias is showing, but I feel like there should've been 1-2 more Outlandish songs and at least one by HIM. Especially since there were lots of songs included that probably weren't that big outside of western or central Europe. But this was a good nostalgia trip anyhow, thanks for all the effort! Finally got names to a lot of songs I knew, but didn't know-know.

Music was so variable back then. No one knew what they were doing because the electronic music wasn't yet sophisticated to sound good enough and because there wasn't a standard uniform sound to conform to. So everyone was basically experimenting with whatever they had which pushed their creativity to the max, resulting in such unique songs. It was a hit or miss time.

I'm Italian. I was a little kid when Sunrise came out, and I causally heard it on the radio while I was in a perfumery shop with my mom.
The chorus stuck in my head from that moment. I had been looking for that song for years without knowing the words and the name and then I found it in your video. I couldn't believe it. Thank you so much, it means a lot for me

Listening to Independent Women pt 1 brought home that those are the values that our generation were brought up with. Men and women, strong and caring for themselves, choosing to be together out of love and free will, not economic necessity. It seems like the current generation have forgotten lessons their parents learned at a heavy price.

I was prepared for just the occasional song being correct with a lot of songs you've never -ever- heard. Like in most other compilation.
But I am sitting here listening it's like.
Boom - heard it.
Boom - Heard it.
Boom - heard it.
Boom - heard it.
Good work, like really good work with this one, buddy.

For 20 minutes you took me back to 6th grade, at the height of the yo-yo craze and my sister making me watch all of OC California with her.
Back then I barely understood any of the songs' lyrics. or none (it was always Drago ice-tea to us. and we didn't care one bit. Thank you for uploading.

Can anyone help me find a video/dance song of a girl driving in a car on a straight road circa 2003-2004 hit please I can't seem to find it anywhere. The song goes something like. Lara ra rarara, ra rarara, lara ra raaaaaa. I don't know if that's useful whatsoever.

German here. Every song hit the right spot. This is a masterpiece. Thank you so much. Can't believe it's been 25 years since then. I want the same feeling of being young for my own kids, but the world seems so different these days. I won't give up on humanity.

You are a good man. Thank you.
Like, I knew 95% of the songs and most of them are still bangers compared to modern radio stuff. I never thought i'd say this, but I take Nickelback over Drake 11 out of 10 times.

Cool nostalgic list aside it's always so interesting to see which songs stood the test of time and became all time classic and which were kind of. products of it's time that got popular just because.

I've just travelled through time. Thanks for reminding me of much happier times when I almost failed a couple of classes in high school because I couldn't stop watching mtv.

After finding out that Robbie Williams is relatively unknown in the US, I wonder for Americans growing up in 2000s which of these songs stand out as unfamiliar

I came to see this list to compare it with the actual hits on America during the same era, and I did find a lot of songs that I never heard over here.
