Great to see a new addition. I hope more are on the way. Trying not to repeat what I have seen in other comments, here's some possible candidates for possible future editions:

and I have noticed you like to group some together in your videos, so some variation of this might be cool:

No One in the World Anita Baker-- Dionne Warwick
I Know I'll Never Love This Way Again Dionne Warwick-- Cheryl Ladd

Correction: GENERAL- If the lyrics are changed it's an adaptation, not a cover.
26. SPECIFIC- Only the chorus has the same melody, it's a RE-WRITE. (according to wikipedia) The melody of You Give Love a Bad Name was originally written for Bonnie Tyler under the title If You Were a Woman (And I Was a Man) with different lyrics commissioned by its producer Jim Steinman. Dissatisfied with its success in the US and the UK (which he attributed to reticence on the part of her label in promoting it, Desmond Child re-wrote the song with Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora.
Maybe you can do seperate ADAPTATION and RE-WRITE lists, I'd look fwd to: I love your videos. I started cleaning my music archive's covers after I found your playlist

Correction 9. a. Cy Grant only performed it live in 1964. It's almost impossible to track live performances because most shows weren't recorded or are lost. So this list follows FIRST RECORDINGS I assume.
b. According to secondhandsongs the first recording is: Anthony Newley, January 1965. Just 2 months prior to Nina Simone's hit. (Well, the speed of picking a song and being first must have been like duells in the wild west back then. How I miss that productivity and raw versions away from the overproduction trap)

With all of the remakes performed by The Carpenters, I was surprised this video didn't include their version of Please Mr. Postman, a #1 song from 1975. It was previously covered by The Beatles in 1963, and the original was performed by The Marvelettes in 1961. According to my research, the Marvelettes' version also hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and was the very first #1 song ever recorded on the famous Motown label (source: Wikipedia.

I’ve noticed there’s at least one artist in most of these videos that have more than one cover. Elvis, Whitney Houston, The Carpenters hearing how the covers differ from the original version is a fascinating look at how covers as a concept can shine a new light on a song in either direction (some covers are better, some originals are better.

Can't remember if I've replied to one of these before, but my 2 for a part 6 would be Heart of Stone - Bucks Fizz and Cher (love the cover); Didn't Know I Was Looking For Love (Until I Found You) - Everything But The Girl and Karen Ramirez, the original is one of my all time favourites, written for the movie Vanilla Sky, but never a hit.

My favorite cover songs are She's So High(Kurt Nilsen ver, With A Little Help From My Friends(Joe Cocker ver, Without You(Air Supply ver) and When I Need You(Julio Iglesias ver. And my favorite original song is Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You(George Benson. Your videos are always very great. Thank you so much.

One you might consider for the Part 6, if you make it: Dream a Little Dream of Me. The best known version is by The Mamas and the Papas from 1968, but actually first recorded in 1931 by Ozzie Nelson and His Orchestra. Also recorded by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong and literally hundreds of others.

If you can come out with the 'Songs You Didn't Know Were Covers' videos, how about coming out with 'Singers and Musical Acts with Most Of Their Hit Songs Were Covers'Like Luther Vandross, Donny Osmond, Linda Ronstadt, others. Not to put there singers of gospel, Celtic, classical(opera, etc.

Im suggesting Sandra - Heartbeat, which is a cover of Steve Hall - Heartbeat (that's emotion.
Peter Ries (Steve Hall, who can be seen in most Sandra's live performances in the 80s, lent the song to Michael Cretu, which later the resulted in the Sandra's version.

Part 6
How Am I Supposed To Live Without You
Cover Version: Michael Bolton (1990)
Original Version: Laura Branigan (1983)
Everything I Own
Cover Version: Boy George (1987)
Cover Version: Ken Boothe (1974)
Original Version: Bread (1972)
Thanks

0: 17 Well, I'll never be a fan of You light up my life, but just from this clip you can tell that the original (from the movie) is much better. Kasy Cysik sings as if she really means it while Debbie Boone sings as if she's really trying to sound as if she means it.
reply

Great songs all around. Must have been tough to pick them out. I was hoping for Linda Ronstadt's cover of A Different Drum by Michael Nesmith. Also Elvis' It's Now or Never is based on an old Italian song, O Sole Mio written around 1898.
reply

These are great, one correction I would suggest. Tina Turner did a version of I can't stand the Rain in the 80's, so it has 3 versions.
Same with Never Can Say Goodbye, original was Issac Hayes before Jackson 5 and Gloria Gaynor.

reply

I just discovered your videos and yes, the title is not an overstatement. I was born in 1980 and I wonder. How long have we been listening to the same music over an over again Speechless at some personal discoveries. Great videos!
reply

I’ve learned 3 things from these videos. 1. If Elvis does a song, that’s his and no one can sing it better. 2. Music from the 50s-80s is the best. And 3. Rod Stewart is actually pretty good
reply

In the next video you should do Istanbul (Not Constantinople) if you haven’t already. I was shocked when I found out They Might Be Giants’ version wasn’t the original.
reply

I really don't know if You Give Love A Bad Name and If You Were A Woman qualifies as a cover, the tunes are similar but not identical and the lyrics are completely different.
reply

Really liking these kind of videos. A suggestion if you make another follow up: Venus. Cover by Bananarama (1986, original by Shocking Blue (1969.
Keep up the good work

reply

apparently Frankie Valli is very popular to cover
also I disagree with You Give Love A Bad Name. It seems more like it just happens that the two songs sound alike.

reply

How about Da Do Ron Ron which has a lot of versions, I. e.: by Shaun Cassidy (1976); Carpenters (1973); all in 1963 by Frank Alamo, the Searchers, and the Crystals
reply

You should do a list of songs that have been covered and choose the best of the best.
Of course I'm talking along songs and never knew have been covered.

reply

6: 43 ah so the song about Istanbul (not constantinople) was a cover too i thought it was a completely separate song cos i never heard it side by side somehow
reply

You know you're old when you remember when these songs were popular on the radio. I'd say they were the good old days, but they actually sucked.

PART 6
Love me for a reason Cover version By Boyzone (1994)
, Osmond (1974) and Original Version realase Johnny Bristol (1974)

reply

Thing about The Carpenters is once they did the song, the original might as well be some other song. Rod Stewart can be like that too.
reply

I never knew the Carpenters covered so many songs. I thought they were all originals. I'm crushed. They still sang them very well.
reply

I remember beggin pacifically the madcon version I had no idea it was cover and I didn’t know it was covered again 10 years later
reply

I have a slight feeling another video from this series is coming soon since the interval for the past videos had been 14 months
reply

I like it very much. The second song, which is You Light Up My Life, is also done by my idol, LeAnn Rimes.
Signed, Angela

reply

Do You Want to Touch Me
Cover version: Joan Jett and the Blackhearts (1980)
Original version: Gary Glitter (1973)

reply

Dual fun facts:
1: LeAnn Rimes also covered You Light Up My Life
And 2: Gloria Gaynor also covered Substitute.

reply

wow, I'm surprised how the song La Bamba by Los Lobos (Cover) and by Ritchie Valens (Original) couldn't be on the list
reply

You give love a bad name is not really a cover maybe the same tune but Bon Jovi and Bonnie Tyler have a different line
reply

When you recognise some of the originals but have never heard the covers, you know you're approaching your sell-by date.
