There's Credence, there's Janis, there's Nilsson, and there's Bob Seger, also Fleetwood Mac, Heart, and Patti Smith and of course Blondie. But that was all I really liked on the NA charts. NA music has just never really done it for me, always preferred UK (Euro) and Australia.
Pretty sure it's a great list though SRG, just not familiar at all enough to know.
Feeling very spoiled though with 2 lists in one day.

Roberta Flack's Killing Me Softly is actually a cover. The song was originally written and performed by Lori Lieberman after she was inspired by seeing Don McLean perform in 1971. Her version was released in 1972 but didn't chart. Roberta Flack's version, released in 1973 became a #1 hit in the US.

I was a teenager in the '70s and remember almost all of these. I also seem to remember that radio stations would play the same two or three hits over and over until the records wore out. No matter how big it was at the time, you just don't hear most of these any more.

Thanks for all the hard work for assembling these clips. For those who may not know, these songs were all grouped chronologically by year through the decade. I did miss seeing something by Elton John or Rod Stewart, but that's minor.

I watched both vids, I have to say the European version is my favorite Random. That said from a guy in the the great USA: ) I think I must have heard more airplay from European groups. guess we had great DJ's where I lived: )

I am an Anglophile when it comes to rock n’ roll and pop and love Abba, but Americans did have great homegrown artists and I’m very proud that I’m in the same country that produced Boston, Aerosmith, the Eagles

Wow. Surprisingly I have to say North American list is better. Zeppelin notwithstanding. Tons of great black music that morphed into disco and yes I like disco.

Great list. The only song possibly missing would be Lorette Lynn's Coal Miner's Daughter. Which much like Dolly Parton's songs was autobiographical.
