Another video with a botched game. Yes I-m being critical, but there were a few rules that were missed here.
1. Anytime that any players -spawns in- (as y-all put it) after jumping into a hole, they actually still have their move. So it-s spawn in, light tiles, and then take your regular move. Both times you had players just spawn in and they didn-t take their move as they should.
2. Anytime you choose to stay, you must discard a tile. AND if that tile is a monster, it replaces an already lit tile around the player that stayed. 2 monsters were discarded this way in this game.
3. 21: 54 when pat moved he would have triggered the monster that would have hit Tina here.
Aside from all that- I REALLY enjoyed the cooperation and the teamwork and communication you guys had in this game. The thought processes and the planning was great! (Side note: don-t ever play the difficult way of not talking to each other unless you are next to each other in the cage. It-s hard and it really takes the fun out of it, because the banter is everything)
All in all, aside from missed rules, the win is deserved. Even tho rules were missed, it was at the very least a consistent set of rules that you guys played by.

Always love a new Overboard episode, and of one of my favorite games! Just a heads up, when you disard a monster card, you in fact do NOT discard it. It must go on a space that is lit by that player
Also, the omens that reveal the durge are part of the advanced game, as well as 3 other monster types! I highly recommend that version of the game. Although they mention 3 omens, which is not part of the version I own, so they might have changed that recently.

Tina dealt with so much monsters alone until she found the others at the end; Susana got the chance to fully analyze the monster which gave her the advantage to outsmart them; Pat powered through the entire catacomb and taking advantage of how the catacombs work; and Simone is the one who jumped into a hole, ran, and snagged the key as the lights goes out. I love how so much personality can be pulled out from games like these.

23: 00 I was thinking about this rule the whole time to prevent 1 player from controlling the actions of the other players. Glad to hear that rule variant exists. You can lesson the difficulty of the rule variant a bit and instead of being adjacent to the player, as long as you can see the player, you can communicate with them.

21: 53, I think the group accidentally cheated here. Monster in the same row as Pat here should have had line of sight (wraps around edge of board, and thus attacked and hit Tina when Pat moved.

I found this game last year. We had a lot of fun. It-s amazing how tense you can get near the end! And the monsters are terrifying!
